Summary: The light should be near blinding casting a shadow over all the others.

1 Corinthians 11:19 For there must be also heresies among you, that they which are approved may be made manifest among you.

Many people get discouraged because there are so many different sects and cults. In reality, this is a fulfilled prophecy and should encourage faith, not hinder or diminish faith. I agree that is frustrating when you read in the Word that we are all to be one since we have one Lord, one faith and one baptism. We are all to be in one accord and speak the same thing, yet you can get six Baptists, or any other group, and get thirteen opinions. It is tough for a Christian to sort out so we cannot fault unbelievers for scratching their heads and sometimes just walking away in confusion.

The approved or the ones that are right should just stand out among the crowd. The light should be near blinding casting a shadow over all the others. The love of the saints should overwhelm people. Our unity should be a puzzle to a world that is filled with conflict. Sadly, it does not. Why?

Because the approved have made peace with the heretics and even bad doctrines among our own groups. We tolerate them. We do not even preach against the errors anymore. To do so makes us feel judgmental and those in error accuse us of being judgmental and call us names so we do not say anything and allow people to believe in lies and even go to Hell because of fear of being judgmental. Yet, are we not to mark them that cause divisions? (Romans 16:17)

There are no gray areas, only gray people. The Holy Spirit came to lead us into all truth, not partial truths or multiple versions of truth. Truth is truth. Just because you do not know the truth or are unsure of the truth does not change the truth. If it is unclear, it is your duty to study and pray for wisdom to make it clear not say well this is a gray ares so if you think it is green and I think it is red it’s OK. No! God is all light and has no shadow of turning which means there is no gray in Him so why would there be gray areas in His word? That’s a cop out to talk about gray areas.

Is God muddled about an issue? Does He say. “I am not really sure what I meant about that so I will allow them to determine what I meant there. It is kind of cloudy and gray so there is not fault if they have twelve opinions of it.” If you believe that, there is something muddled about your view of God. He is truth so there is no doubt in Him as to what is right or wrong, true or false.
