Summary: 5 TIMES IN THE BOOK OF JOSHUA. GILGAL IS NOT ONLY THE FIRST PLACE ISRAEL CAMPED IN THE PROMISE LAND BUT IT WAS THE PLACE THAT ISRAEL KEPT GOING BACK TO. WHY DOES ISRAEL KEEP RETURNING TO GILGAL?

ISRAEL CAMPED IN THE PROMISE LAND BUT IT WAS THE PLACE THAT ISRAEL
KEPT GOING BACK TO.
WHY DOES ISRAEL KEEP RETURNING TO GILGAL.
A PLACE OF SPECIAL MEANING TO THEM.
THERE ARE SOME PLACES IN OUR LIFE THAT ARE SPECIAL TO US.
PLACES WE NEED TO REVISIT FROM TIME TO TIME.
PLACES WHERE WE GET BACK ON TRACK WITH THE LORD.
LET’S TAKE A LOOK AT GILGAL.
1. PLACE OF REMEMBERANCE
Joshua 4:19 And the people came up out of Jordan on the tenth day of
the first month, and encamped in Gilgal, in the east
border of Jericho. (KJV)
Joshua 4:20 And those twelve stones, which they took out of Jordan,
did Joshua pitch in Gilgal. (KJV)
A. UP OUT OF JORDAN
B. STONES CARRIED AND PLACED THERE FOR A MEMORIAL.
C. WHEN THEY WENT BACK THAT REMEMBERED

OUT OF TYHE WILDERNESS INTO THE PROMISED LAND

Joshua 5:5 Now all the people that came out were circumcised: but
all the people that were born in the wilderness by the
way as they came forth out of Egypt, them they had not
circumcised. (KJV)
Joshua 5:9 And the LORD said unto Joshua, This day have I rolled
away the reproach of Egypt from off you. Wherefore the
name of the place is called Gilgal unto this day. (KJV)

OUR PASSOVER IS CHRIST AND CALVARY

Joshua 5:11 And they did eat of the old corn of the land on the
morrow after the passover, unleavened cakes, and
parched corn in the selfsame day. (KJV)
Joshua 5:12 And the manna ceased on the morrow after they had
eaten of the old corn of the land; neither had the
children of Israel manna any more; but they did eat
of the fruit of the land of Canaan that year.
