To explore and understand the themes of God's Sovereignty, His Creativity, and His Faithfulness as depicted in creation.

Introduction

Good morning, Church family! Today we’re diving into the very first chapter of the Bible—Genesis chapter 1. We're going to explore the themes of God's Sovereignty, His Creativity, and His Faithfulness. Philip Yancey, a respected Christian author, once said, "A God wise enough to create me and the world I live in is wise enough to watch out for me." In other words, we cannot fathom the greatness of God's sovereignty, creativity, and faithfulness.

Let's take a look at the Scripture we'll be focusing on: "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And God said, 'Let there be light,' and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. God called the light 'day,' and the darkness he called 'night.' And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day." (Genesis 1:1-5)
