Summary: Stirring up that which is inside of you.

(Just shake yourself) 3X’s

Some of us today need to get to shaking: The old devil is trying to get a hold on you, a spirit of luke warmness and indifference is trying to fasten itself to you,

You need to shake it loose. Somebody needs to shake off the spirit of poverty, the spirit of fear and unbelief, worry and anxiety.

Some of us have some things in our life that are draining the spirit out of us, it’s draining the joy out of our life. We need to shake it loose.

And now it time to Stir It Up. What does stirring do? Well, stirring bring the things that are on the bottom to the top,

We need turn those ashes over and let the wind of heaven fan them into a flame again.

Stir up that Anointing, stir up that calling, stir up that faith, stir up that love, and stir up that joy. Stir it up, stir it up.

Turn over that fallow ground, don’t let anything be hidden in your heart, get it out and let the fire of God burn it up.

I said it’s time to stir it up and shake it loose:

I know that sometimes things get a little rusty, and you have to shake it a little bit to get it broken and loose again.

Stir it up and shake it loose.

Sometime when an old gate gets stuck, you have to shake it loose.

I know that sometimes our praise gets a little rusty and we ain’t praising God like we used to, we’re not praying like we used to, we’re not singing like we used to.

It isn’t that we don’t love God, it’s just that we need a good shaking to get everything back in perspective.

I’m reminded of a story about an old preacher that was once holding a revival in an old tent. One night a man walked in with an old shirt on, and some cut off overalls. When the alter call was given, he walked down the aisle and got saved.

After he finished praying, the preacher asked him, sir what was it that I said in my message that caused you to come and get saved? The man looked at the preacher and said, I hope you’re not offended at me for saying this but I really don’t remember a word you said. The preacher then asked him, why did you get saved then? The man began to tell his story.

When I was young, I left home when I was 17 years old. I had a Christian mother, and as I was preparing and getting ready to leave, my mother took a piece of paper and wrote on that paper. She wrote son wherever you may go, and whatever you do just remember mother is praying for you and remember this song. I didn’t notice the note I closed my suitcase, and I went to Chicago.

But the first thing I saw when I opened my suitcase was that note from my mother. It made me mad to think that my mother was doing all the praying for me and leaving the lyrics to a song for me. When I was at my lowest God was really dealing with me. So, I took a pencil and beneath her words I wrote, may God curse your prayers and curse this song. My mother died 9 years ago, and later on I moved back to Oklahoma. I was setting on my porch with no thought of God whatsoever. And as you all revival started, I started to hear you sing. All of a sudden, those words of my mother, who has been gone for so long now, begin to ring in my ear. "Son wherever you may go, remember that mother is praying for you and remember this song. I got up and begin to walk toward the tent so I could hear what you were you singing. You were singing, "What can wash away my sins, nothing but the Blood of Jesus. What can make me whole again, nothing but the Blood of Jesus! Ol precious is the flow, that makes me white as snow, no other fountain I know, nothing but the Blood of Jesus, and something on the inside started stirring up.
