Learning To Rest In The Lord

Text: Psalm 37:1-7

Introduction: In our lives we often allow those who are not doing right to affect us. We look at what they are doing and we allow if to affect us in our lives. What we need to do is get our eyes off those that are not doing right and trust in the Lord and put our delight in the right place.

DON’T ALLOW:

I. Unjust To Cause You To Fret

A. Don’t allow those who are not living right to cause you to fret.

B. Don’t allow those who and not following God’s leading to cause you to fret.

II. Uncertainty To Hinder Your Trust

A. When you are unsure of yourself it will hinder the trust you have in God.

B. If you are unsure of what you believe will most certainly effect your trust in God.

III. Unhappiness To Delay Getting Your Desires

A. Your unhappy attitude will bring about the desires of your heart.

B. Get happy where you are doing what God would have you to do. It will bring about the desires of your heart.

IV. Unfaithfulness To Effect Your Commitment

A. Unfaithfulness is the great hinderance of commitment. If you lack faithfulness you will lack commitment.

B. In order to effectively put your trust in the Lord you must be faithful in the other areas of your life.

V. Unpatience To Effect Your Rest

A. When we are not patient it will effect our rest. We allow worry and stress to run our lives.

B. Tusting in the Lord is letting God take care of the stress and problems that come each day.
