Leap Over A Wall

Summary: Only people who can run fearlessly and ruthlessly to meet giant Goliaths like David, can write such words!
Double and triple hundreds! Push boundaries!
Psalm 18:29”For by you I can run against a troop, and by my God I can leap over a wall.”
Former India captain Kapil Dev said the iconic Sachin Tendulkar ‘did not know how to make double hundreds and triple hundreds and four hundreds though he had the ability!’ Further he went on to say that he didn’t apply himself to ruthless international cricket and got stuck to domestic standards. By ruthless, he meant aggressive, forceful and passionate pursuit of cricket; this small article was sandwiched in a corner in the sports page; yet I loved it, since I also have the same ‘greed’ like Kapil Dev for people to outshine, who did have the potential to do more. When Shah Rukh Khan recently celebrated his 50th birthday on November 2, he said ‘I’m ready to be pushed now!’ Imagine! I’m talking about pushing your boundaries, I’m talking about enlarging your tent, I’m talking about running against a troop and leaping over a wall. Don’t be content!
Only people who can run fearlessly and ruthlessly to meet giant Goliaths like David, can write such words! Chapter eighteen starts with these words, “I love you, O LORD, my strength.” He goes on to say, ‘the LORD is my rock, my fortress, my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.’ Boy! This has the aroma and spice of a love letter! Yes it is! When you have such passion for God, then you can leap over a wall! I’m simply excited!
We had the prize distribution for the quarterly examination that was held last month, and I was surprised that the boy who held the ‘first rank’ for a long period now lost the crown to another boy. More than the boy, I was disturbed because he was someone that I had trained from the beginning; however, I have found that the ‘ruthless spirit’ was not there in him anymore. He took the ‘first rank’ for granted and never knew someone might grab it from him any time! Completing college and hunting for job is normal, but ‘hunting for a challenge to confront’ is extraordinary! Are you listening? When you stretch yourself to meet a challenge: be it a project, technical course, new business proposal, whatever that drags you out of your comfort zone, mark it, after completion your confidence level grows enormously! Don’t say, ‘the Bible is too big, fasting and prayer is too tough, early morning prayer is just impossible’, enlarge for God.
When we reached Hyderabad, I had the biggest challenge of learning a new language! I had a choice to learn or pack up my bags! Both my husband and I, started our classes at home on our own through books and hard practice. After around six years now, if the primary class teachers are on leave, I can teach my Abide School children to read and write. Besides this, we have enthusiastically made hard efforts and now we can sing more than 300 telugu songs. My husband can read, write and speak in telugu.
Be a doer! Be an achiever! Today’s environment demands the ability to keep several balls in the air at the same time. Not mono-tasking but multi-tasking!
