Plan for: Thanksgiving | Advent | Christmas
God fully knows and loves us, and He knows what's best for us.
Let's start with a little object lesson. I want you to think about your favorite pair of shoes. You know, the ones that are perfectly worn in, super comfy, and you feel like you can conquer the world in them. Now, imagine if someone tried to tell you that those shoes are uncomfortable and not your style. You'd probably think they're crazy, right? Because you know those shoes better than anyone else.
That's how God knows us. He knows us better than anyone else, even better than we know ourselves. He knows our strengths, our weaknesses, and what we're capable of.
God knows us better than anyone else, even better than we know ourselves.
Let's look at Galatians 4:8-9. It talks about how before we knew God, we were slaves to things that aren't even gods. But now that we know God, or rather are known by God, we're free.
Think about that. God knows you. He knows your struggles, your dreams, your fears. And He loves you, no matter what.
Remember the story of Saul in Acts 9:1-16? Saul was a guy who was totally against Christians. But God knew there was more to Saul than that. He had a plan for Saul, and He turned him into one of the greatest missionaries of all time.
God has a plan for you too. He knows what's best for you, even when you don't.
So, here's the deal. We all have times when we feel alone or disconnected from God. But turning to other things, like popularity, grades, or social media, won't fill that void. Only God can.
So, let's make a choice today. Let's choose to turn away from those things that don't really satisfy us and turn to God, who knows us, loves us, and has a plan for us.
God, give us the courage to follow where you lead and to turn away from the things that don't really satisfy us. Thank you for loving us, even when we mess up. Help us to remember that you know us, you love us, and you have a plan for us. Amen.
