Summary: We only see that which is temporal, but God sees that which is eternal, and he wants us too as well.

There are certain people we think we know all about. We recognize them by features, characteristics, conduct and we do know much about them but not all. Man looks on the outward appearance, but God looks on the heart. If we're going to make this year a profitable one, we must know people as God knows them. We only see that which is temporal, but God sees that which is eternal, and he wants us too as well.

I. Know that You are an Eternal Soul

1. Genesis 1:26, 2:7

2. The soul is you: the part that loves, hopes, praise, believes, aspires, tempted, sins, repents can be eternally saved or eternally lost. That's you. God wants you to know it and me as well. Luke 9:25

II. The Soul is the Real Forgotten Unknown Person

1. Educational systems

2. Business

3. social life

4. politics

5. sports activities

6. the spiritual atmosphere is ignored.

7. Don't talk on the job

a. it is forbidden

b. ignored

c. unwanted

8. Churches sometimes forget to. Matthew 28:19-20

a. The sole winner has the greatest influence on life. Proverbs 11:30

b. we are not of them who draw back under partition but have them that believe to the saving of the soul. Hebrews 10:39

III. The Soul is the Greatest of all God’s Creations

4. So many are looking for the most unknown of creation and yet we are missing God’s most valuable.

IV. The Greatness of the Soul is Subject to Every Test

1. Test of subtraction.

a. Body without soul.

b. 2 Corinthians 5:6-8

2. Test of the purpose of life.

b. Even everyone that is called by many name for I have created him for my glory.

c. I have formed him, made him.

3. Test of earthly gain

a. 1 Timothy 6:7

b. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.

4. Test of pleasure

5. test of wealth

a. Ecclesiastes 5:10

b. no satisfaction in the love of money.

6. Test of endurance

b. Souls and eternity will never be released.

V. The Highest Test of Value of any Object is what Has been done for It

3. Jesus Died

VI. Only One Sin Unbelief is the Cause

2. Sin is the transgression of God’s law.

4. Sin once lost until redeemed.

VII. Two Big Questions Must be Answered

1. What will you give?

a. My own ideas.

b. My own religion.

c. My good works.

2. What will you take?

a. Small things

b. Moments of pleasure

c. Comfort, money

d. Judas, Esau, and Pilate took worldly things.

VIII. In Closing

1. You can’t give or take.

2. You must trust Jesus to cleanse you from your sins.

3. He died on the cross to be your sacrifice for sin.
