Kill distractions

1 King 18:28 “So they cried with a loud voice and cut themselves according to their custom with swords and lances until the blood gushed out on them.”

Don’t allow outside noise and voices to distract your attention! This is for people who are confused by the quarreling, screaming, failures, fighting, arguing that surrounds them; look at Jesus today who is able to save you! Say Amen and Amen.

Imagine the blood that gushed out (that’s the word used in the above verse) because of cutting themselves, the screaming, the scary swords and what not; nevertheless, Elijah was focused on His God who is greater than all this drama. Clap hands for God will you? C’mon friends, have faith today that your God will shut the mouth of lions. Elijah waited until they became silent from all the exhaustion then he told them ‘"Come near to me." Wow, that’s awesome! We need such Elijahs’ today who would call the broken hearted, bruised, raped, molested and rejected people and say "Come near to me." Only when you have a close relationship with God, can you say this.

Elijah did not get distracted, he did the below meticulously:

• he repaired the altar of the LORD

• took twelve stones according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Jacob

• with the stones he built an altar in the name of the LORD

• he made a trench around the altar

• he arranged the wood

• Filled four pitchers with water and poured it on the burnt offering and on the wood

• Poured water three times

• The water flowed around the altar and he also filled the trench with water

• After all this Elijah prayed and the fire of God came down

Clap hands for God! Stay focused! Do things in order and not haphazardly, are you there?

When the enemy tried to blitz our school project through discouraging words of the officials, when we were confronted with nothing but big barricades on every side, I did one thing – I picked up the Bible and started reading. I read His Words in the wee hours of the morning, afternoon and night. Phew! I can never explain the energy I received! I felt taller and stronger! Though the circumstances did not change – something inside me changed! I was exploding with faith! Abide School has received recognition from the Telangana Government for the next 10 years!
