Summary: The Lord Jesus gave us key principles of success in the parable of the sower and the seed. Let us ask God for wisdom in applying these timeless truths to our lives, relationships and ministries.

11. SIGNALS - Realize that some people will mis-interpret your signals and misappropriate the seed for their own purposes but do not be deterred from sowing the seed. Some will be hard-hearted, others will be deterred because of the pressures and persecutions that come from following Christ, others will be deceived by the worries, riches and pleasures of this life. Paul wrote to Timothy, "The things you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, the same commit to faithful men who will be able to teach others also." (2 Tim. 2:2) Tune into the signals that God is sending to you through His word and Spirit.

12. SOLUTIONS - Jesus Christ always has a positive solution for every negative situation. Isaiah wrote, "The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor.He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion—to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes,

the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor. (Isa. 61:1-3)

13. SERVANT - Mark 10:45 says, "Even the Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve and to give His life as a ransom for many." Paul wrote, "We preach not ourselves but Christ Jesus as Lord and ourselves your servants for Jesus sake." Let us prayerful sing the song, "Make me a servant, humble and meek. Lord let me lift up those who are week. And may the prayer of my heart always be. Make me a servant today." There really is joy in serving Jesus, joy that triumphs over pain. Joy that fills our hearts with singing, every hour and every day.

14. SANCTIFICATION - Paul wrote, "Christ has become for us wisdom from God, righteousness, sanctification, holiness and redemption." (I Cor. 1:18-21) May the Lord sanctify us holy, body, soul, mind and spirit." (I Thes. 5:24) When we flee from lusts and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love and peace with those who call upon the Lord from a pure heart, we find God's greatest pleasure and favor and blessings.

What does it mean to be set apart in the Bible?

Sanctification doesn't mean you never sin again; it just means you were set apart from being in bondage to sin and the devil and death. Now, having been set apart unto God, you begin to live for God. And you continue to be more and more separated from the sin that was so much the dominant pattern of your life.

The emphasis in Psalm 4:3 is not upon how we live in our godliness. Rather, this verse underscores the fact that the Lord has set us apart “for himself.” We belong to him, not primarily to do his work, but because he loves us and seeks relationship with us.
