Summary: This is the second message on the faith of Hebrews chapter eleven.
Keeping the Faith #2
Hebrews 11:7 By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear,
prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became
heir of the righteousness which is by faith.
I. Through The Word of Faith We Have Warning.
A. Being warned of God of things not seen as yet.
Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
1. The word was a warning.
Genesis 6:13 And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is
filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.
a. We need to believe the warning of the word.
Galatians 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he
also reap.
Galatians 6:8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that
soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
Galatians 6:9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint
not.
II. Through The Work of Faith We Have Witness.
A. Moved with fear.
1. If you believe God, you will fear God.
B. Prepared an Ark.
James 2:14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not
works? can faith save him?
James 2:15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,
James 2:16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled;
notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?
James 2:17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
James 2:18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without
thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.
James 2:19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and
tremble.
III. Through The Walk of Faith We Must Wait.
A. To the saving of his house.
2 Corinthians 5:7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)
1. Consider his walk during the building.
2. Consider his walk into the ark.
3. Consider his walk while on the ship.
IV. Through The Will of Faith We Will Win.
A. Condemned the world.
1. It was not Noah’s wish that men would die, but he believed God, and he knew that whatever God done was for the best. He had faith in the will of God.
Daniel 3:17 If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery
furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.
Daniel 3:18 But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor
worship the golden image which thou hast set up.
B. Became heir of the righteousness.
1. Heir- One who receives his allotted possession by right of sonship
2. The Righteousness-state of him who is as he ought to be, righteousness, the condition acceptable to God
