Summary: The greatest challenge is not about keeping the dream alive but the "dreamer" alive. Without the dreamer there is no dream.

KEEPING A DREAMER ALIVE

Gen. 37: 19-20

A dreamer follows an unfolding revelation of God’s purpose for his / her life.

Dreamers are leaders and become the focal point of spiritual attack.

The problem is not with keeping the dream alive but keeping the dreamer alive.

A dream without the dreamer is worthless.

FIVE THINGS THAT WILL KEEP A DREAMER ALIVE

1. FELLOWSHIP WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT Acts 2:17-18

The Holy Spirit is the SOURCE of the dream. He encourages the dreamer and strengthens the dream.

2. THE AGENCY OF THE WORD OF GOD

Ps. 119: 38 – “Establish your word to your servant who is devoted to following you.”

Ps. 119: 49-50 – “Remember the word to your servant. Upon which you have caused me to hope. This is my comfort in my affliction. For your word has given me life.

1 Kings 19: 8 – “So he arose and ate and drank and he went in the strength of that food, forty days and 40 nights as far as Horeb, the mountain of God.”

3. THE “POSITIVE FELLOWSHIP” FACTOR

“As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.” Pro. 27: 17

Sharpening of your life comes out of positive relationships.

Find fellowship with people who will sharpen and bring focus to your dream.

4. CULTIVATE A “DREAMERS PERSPECTIVE”

“But now do not therefore be grieved or angry with yourselves because you sold me here. For God sent me before you to preserve life.” Gen 45:5

This is the divine perspective of every dreamer: THEY SEE THE SOVRINGITY OF GOD rather than the sorry state they may be in!

5. ESTABLISH VALUES THAT WILL SUSTAIN YOU

“How then can I do this great wickedness and sin against God?” Gen. 39: 9

Godly values will sustain you during times when your dream is attacked.
