Plan for: Thanksgiving | Advent | Christmas
This sermon encourages perseverance in doing good, emphasizing that persistence and positivity will yield divine rewards, even if progress seems slow or insignificant.
Good morning, beloved family of God. It's such a joy and a blessing to be standing here before you, sharing God's word and His love with each and every one of you. We are, each of us, part of a divine tapestry, woven together by the hand of God, and bound together by the threads of His love and grace.
Today, we are going to immerse ourselves in the profound wisdom found in the book of Galatians, specifically Galatians 6:9. The Apostle Paul, in his letter to the Galatians, reminds us of the importance of persistence and perseverance, and the reward that comes from promoting positivity.
In the words of the Apostle Paul, "And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up" (Galatians 6:9).
What a powerful reminder, isn't it? That our persistence in purpose, our perseverance in passion, and our promotion of the positive, are not in vain. That there is a divine harvest waiting for us, if only we do not give up.
The revered Christian author, Charles Spurgeon, once said, "By perseverance, the snail reached the ark." It's a charming, yet profound reminder that no matter how slow or insignificant our progress might seem, it is progress nonetheless. And in the grand scheme of God's plan, each step forward, no matter how small, is a victory in itself.
Let us bow our heads in prayer. Dear Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your Word, which is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path. We thank You for the wisdom found in Galatians, and for the reminder to persist in purpose, to persevere in passion, and to promote the positive. We ask that You open our hearts and minds today, that we might fully grasp the depth of Your message for us. Guide us, Lord, as we seek to apply these truths to our lives, that we might bear fruit for Your Kingdom. In Jesus' name, we pray, amen.
Transition. Now, let's move forward, hand in hand, heart to heart, as we unwrap the richness of God's word together. Let's strive to not grow weary, let's strive to reap the harvest that awaits us, and let's strive to never give up.
When we consider the words of the Apostle Paul in Galatians 6:9, we're encouraged to keep pressing forward, to keep striving, to keep pursuing that which God has placed in our hearts. This is not a casual suggestion, but a divine directive. It's a call to action, a call to commitment, a call to consistency. It's a call to persist in our God-given purpose.
The first aspect of this divine directive is the call to action. It's not enough to simply have a purpose. We must act upon it. We must take the necessary steps, make the necessary sacrifices, and do the necessary work to fulfill our purpose. This is not a passive process, but an active pursuit. It's a pursuit that requires effort, energy, and endurance. It's a pursuit that requires us to step out of our comfort zones, to take risks, and to face challenges head-on.
The second aspect of this divine directive is the call to commitment. It's not enough to simply act upon our purpose. We must commit to it. We must make a conscious decision to dedicate ourselves to our purpose, to devote ourselves to it wholeheartedly. This is not a fleeting commitment, but a lifelong covenant. It's a covenant that requires loyalty, dedication, and determination.
The third aspect of this divine directive is the call to consistency. We must consistently act upon our purpose, consistently commit to our purpose, and consistently pursue our purpose. This is not a sporadic consistency, but a sustained consistency. It's a consistency that requires discipline, diligence, and dedication. It's a consistency that requires us to keep doing good, even when we don't see immediate results. It's a consistency that requires us to keep planting seeds, even when we don't see immediate growth.
The fourth and final aspect of this divine directive is the promise of a harvest. This is not a vague promise, but a specific promise. It's a promise that our persistence in purpose will not be in vain. It's a promise that our perseverance in passion will not be fruitless. It's a promise that our promotion of the positive will not be futile. It's a promise that in due season, we will reap a harvest, if we do not give up.
Transition. So, as we reflect on the words of the Apostle Paul in Galatians 6:9, let's remember the call to action, the call to commitment, the call to consistency, and the promise of a harvest. Let's remember that our persistence in purpose is not in vain, that our perseverance in passion is not fruitless, and that our promotion of the positive is not futile. Let's remember that in due season, we will reap a harvest, if we do not give up.
As we continue to unravel the wisdom found in Galatians 6:9, we find ourselves drawn to the idea of perseverance in passion ... View this full PRO sermon free with PRO
