Summary: We just need to believe in what we ask for, because of who we are asking!

James 1-5-8-If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.

For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord;

he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.

Lacks Wisdom-Wisdom to make right decisions so that we can benefit from a trial.

But the truth is we would rather complain about the trials than actually learn something from them.

Ask Of God-Look who the source of wisdom comes from, and it is only from Him can we receive it!

If people have wisdom it is only from God did they receive it, even if they never acknowledge that or not!

God wants to give but there is a condition, you have to believe you will receive it.

We have to believe in the goodness of God, in the generosity of God, in the grace of God, because isn’t that how sin all started, was Satan convinced Eve that God was with holding something from them.

Genesis 3:4-Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die.

For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

Hebrews 11:6-But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

To ask in faith is saying we are totally depend upon God and His wisdom rather than our own.

is dead to doubts, dumb to discouragements, blind to impossibilities, knows nothing but success.

Faith lifts its hand up through the threatening clouds, lays hold of Him who has all power in heaven and on earth.

Faith makes the up look good, the outlook bright, the in look favorable, and the future glorious.

God has the wisdom that we so desperately need and He is waiting on us demonstrate our trust and dependence on Him

There are sometimes we begin to doubt if God is going to give us the answer we want!

Then there are times when we want to argue with God about why things happened the way they did.

And the response to that is found in verse 7-For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord

Satan can’t keep God from answering our prayer, but he can get us to doubt if God will!

Prayer substitutes man’s weakness with God’s strength, man’s ignorance with God’s wisdom, mans emptiness with God’s fullness, and man’s poverty with God’s wealth.

Verse 8-he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.

One minute (You Believe) the next (You Don’t)!

One minute (You Trust God Can) the next (You Don’t Know If He Will)!

That uncertainty in thinking will began to affect every area of you life!

Have you ever met someone they just can’t make a decision, they go back and forth and you just want to scream and say, “Make a decision!”

"Double minded is standing in two boats, with one foot in each."
