INTRODUCTION:
The sixth month in the calendar holds a prophetic significance in the story of Mary’s divine encounter. The angel Gabriel was sent directly from heaven to visit a young virgin named Mary with a life-altering message—one that would change history forever. This visitation was not ordinary; it was heaven’s interruption of earth’s routine, a divine moment that launched a new season of glory, favour, and manifestation.
Divine visitation is when God steps into the affairs of men with power, purpose, and promise. It brings divine direction, supernatural turnaround, and irreversible blessings. Every time God visits a person or place, something shifts dramatically. In this month of June, we believe God is set to visit His people again.
Just as Mary received a divine visitation that led to the birth of the Saviour, you too can experience a divine encounter that will birth something glorious in your life. The same God who visited in the sixth month is still in the business of visiting His children today.
1. DIVINE VISITATION BRINGS DIVINE ANNOUNCEMENTS
When God visits, He comes with a message that changes destinies.
a) God never visits without a purpose (Luke 1:28):
Gabriel’s words to Mary were full of grace and divine intent—“Thou art highly favoured.”
b) Divine visitation reveals God’s plans (Jeremiah 29:11):
God makes known what He is about to do through visitation.
c) Every divine visitation is a prophetic signal (Amos 3:7):
The Lord reveals His secrets before He acts.
d) Divine announcements birth divine assignments (Luke 1:31-33):
Mary’s visitation led her into the highest calling—to birth the Son of God.
Biblical Example: God visited Abraham and Sarah to announce Isaac’s birth (Genesis 18:1-10).
2. DIVINE VISITATION SHIFTS SEASONS
God’s visitation marks the end of stagnation and the beginning of a new era.
a) A long-standing problem can end in a moment (Genesis 21:1):
“The Lord visited Sarah as He had said…”
b) Divine visitation turns mourning into dancing (Psalm 30:5):
A moment of divine encounter can change years of pain.
c) When God visits, delay turns into fulfilment (Luke 1:36-37):
Elizabeth, who was called barren, was six months pregnant.
d) Divine visitation activates divine timing (Ecclesiastes 3:1):
God’s timing is perfect, and He knows when to visit.
Biblical Example: God visited Israel in Egypt and shifted their season of slavery (Exodus 3:7-10).
3. DIVINE VISITATION BRINGS DIVINE INSTRUCTIONS
God’s visitation comes with guidance to navigate the new season.
a) Instructions are key to manifestation (Matthew 2:13):
Joseph was warned in a dream to escape to Egypt.
b) Divine visitation often changes our direction (Acts 9:3-6):
Saul’s encounter on the road to Damascus redirected his destiny.
c) Obedience to divine instruction secures divine favour (Deuteronomy 28:1):
Following God's voice brings blessings.
d) Divine instructions require humility and sensitivity (Proverbs 3:5-6):
We must trust in the Lord and not lean on our own understanding.
Biblical Example: Cornelius received divine instructions during angelic visitation (Acts 10:1-6).
4. DIVINE VISITATION BRINGS DIVINE PRESENCE AND POWER
When God visits, He doesn't come empty; He comes with power and glory.
a) God’s presence brings deliverance and restoration (Luke 7:16):
“God has visited His people.”
b) Divine presence causes supernatural conception (Luke 1:35):
The Holy Spirit came upon Mary, and power overshadowed her.
c) Divine power breaks limitations (Micah 2:13):
God’s presence makes way where there was none.
d) You cannot remain the same after divine visitation (Exodus 34:29):
Moses' face shone after encountering God.
Biblical Example: On Pentecost Day, divine visitation brought power from on high (Acts 2:1-4).
