Summary: The mercy of God overcomes the fire of Hell
JOURNEY OF THE DAMNED
Text: 2 Pet 2:4 For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but sent them to hell, putting them into gloomy dungeons to be held for judgment;
2 Pet 2:5 if he did not spare the ancient world when he brought the flood on its ungodly people, but protected Noah, a preacher of righteousness, and seven others;
2 Pet 2:6 if he condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah by burning them to ashes, and made them an example of what is going to happen to the ungodly;
Intro: Can we take a trip, a trip so many will take; but a trip none has to make. Let's take a trip that all the lost will take, a journey down the dark corridors of the doomed and the damned. As we fall over the edge we enter a chasm that is filled with total darkness. We are over come by the stench of rotten flesh as we enter a place completely controlled by evil. A feeling of dispair consumes us as we enter this hopeless world of no escape and eternal damnation. As we walk down the gloomy hall we come to a cell; there's a name over the cell door. As we peer into the total darkness of the cell, we sense movement inside. Our very being is pierced by the scream of the tormented soul inside. Supernaturally our eyes are permitted to see inside this cell.
The Name on the Door
Rich man (Laz)
Rich young ruler (riches dragging me down)
Ahab (why did I listen to that woman)
Achan (bars of gold and Bab. Garments)
Haman (I can see the Gallows )
Herrod (blood of innocent children)
Hitler (gas chamber )
Abortion doctors
A/C Can we visit one more cell. LOOK your name is above the door!!! Do you dare look inside ? This cell is different, there is no sounds coming from it. A total peace has filled the room , blocking out the screams of torment from the other cells. As we look inside this cell there is no evidence of a tormented soul; only a bloody Cross can be seen. All at once the voice of God speaks "I took your sins and covered them with my blood to deliver you from the place.
