Summary: The home going service for my younger brother with down syndrome. Jesus teaches us a lesson in the time of death. Rest my brother Rest.

Maybe just maybe Jesus wept because he knew that he had to bring Lazarus back to this wicked world. This world where people will lie on you, back to this world where people will scandalize your name and do all matter of evil against you, back a world where he was continuing making doctors appointments, a world where bills were steadily stacking up. I don’t know but I do know this one thing and that is that he wept. In a world where people would lie on you. And what I have learned is when you are alive, people will lie on you, and when you are dead people will lie for you.

?But there maybe there was one other reason why Jesus cried. For Jesus knew that He Himself would soon face death.

And he knew that there would be so much pain and sorrow among his own family and friends. For you see, death is a conclusion to our lives in this world. And one day each one of us will face the reality of death eventually.

It may be that many of us will be orphaned by death before our time comes. But the reality is that loved ones will be left behind. And the pain and sorrow at each of our deaths will be present. And so, “Jesus wept.”

But maybe it wasn’t because of family, maybe it wasn’t because of lost, but maybe just maybe it was because of verse 33, because in verse 33 it say’s When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came with her, he groaned in the spirit, and was troubled.

But this is the verse that became intriguing to me because something miraculous was about to happen. In verse 34 He asked the question; Where have ye laid him? They said unto him, Lord, come and see. 35 Jesus wept.

The Bible said that Jesus went to the tomb of his friend Lazarus, where he found Lazarus dead and buried. And he told them to roll back the stones.

This is where I began to shout, because it was at this point that the scriptures proclaim, that in Jesus there is the power of life. For I heard Inez Andrews says in her song (Oh Mary don’t you weep) that he called his name he said Lazarus (3) and then I can hear Lazarus saying hush, hush, hush somebody calling my name.

I heard that Jesus spoke the words and Lazarus rose from the grave. Bound hand and foot with crave cloths on, and Jesus spoken to the clothing and said loose him and let him go.

And that gives me hope because if Jesus can raise his friend Lazarus from the grave, then He can raise us as well. And so it is proclaimed by Jesus when he says, “He who believes in me will not be disappointed.”??Yes, today is a day of weeping: for the lost of our family member (our brother and a loss of your friend), but I’m here to tell you that there will be a day of rejoicing for those who know Jesus Christ.

And I stop by to tell you don’t worry about Vincent, because on the other day I heard that Jesus stop by his room the other days and he wept, but again that’s not how the story ends.

Since there were no stone I heard him said roll back the sheet and he called his name Vincent come on, I have another home that not built by mans hands, come on because in this new home, there will be no doctors, come because in this new home there will be not more lying, come on because up here the wicked shall cease from troubling and the wearied shall be at rest, and all of the Saints of the ages will sit at his feet and be blessed.
