Plan for: Thanksgiving | Advent | Christmas
The Bible clearly states that Jesus was and is God's perfect plan. He is more than enough for us.
Do you ever feel like nothing is ever enough in our world? We live in a culture that constantly pressures us to add more to everything. Whether it's adding comments to social media posts or adding extra items to our orders, there's always a push for more.
This obsession with adding extends beyond our daily lives. We see it in the use of additives in products, from gasoline to toothpaste. While additives may make things stronger or last longer, they can also have damaging side effects. That's why there's a growing movement towards natural and organic products.
Unfortunately, this mindset of always needing more has also infiltrated the realm of faith. Many people believe that they need to add something to the redemptive work of Christ on the cross. They think that Jesus alone is not enough.
The Bible is clear that Jesus is the "Plan of Enough" set out by God. In Colossians 1:15-20, we find one of the most important passages in the New Testament. It boldly declares that Jesus is the image of God, the firstborn over all creation, and the one through whom all things were created.
Jesus is not just a created being; He is fully God, just as God the Father is fully God. When we place our trust in Christ, He makes us complete. We don't need anything else. We don't need Jesus plus traditions, money, or material possessions. Jesus alone is enough.
Believing that Jesus is enough involves resting in God's promises no matter what is going on around us. It means finding satisfaction and contentment in Him alone. When we realize that Jesus is all we need, we can overcome stress, difficulties, and the cares of this life.
In our churches today, many struggle with this concept that Jesus is enough. We often focus on the things about Jesus rather than on Jesus Himself. We become more interested in the work of the Lord than in the Lord Himself. We seek prophecies, teachings, and experiences, but we neglect to seek a personal relationship with Jesus.
The early New Testament church had power because they had been with Jesus. They encountered Him for themselves and knew that He was enough. They didn't rely on external things or experiences; they relied on Jesus alone.
Today, we need to remember that Jesus is enough. He is enough to defeat sin, to save us, and to meet all our needs. We don't need anything else. We don't need to add to His redemptive work on the cross. We simply need to trust in Him and rest in His promises.
So, let us declare with confidence that Jesus is enough. He is all we need in this life and for eternity. No matter what challenges we face, no matter what our circumstances may be, Jesus is enough.
Let us find our satisfaction, our joy, and our contentment in Him alone. Let us seek a personal relationship with Jesus and experience the power that comes from being with Him. Jesus is enough, and that is the bottom line.
