Message Point: Jesus is the Good Shepherd that loves and cares for His sheep.

Focus Passage: John 10:22-30

Supplemental Passage: "I am the good shepherd; the good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep. (John 10:11 NASB)

Introduction:

I. His Sheep Know His Voice

a. He knows His sheep

i. "I am the good shepherd, and I know My own and My own know Me, (John 10:14 NASB)

b. His sheep follow Him

i. "To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. "When he puts forth all his own, he goes ahead of them, and the sheep follow him because they know his voice. "A stranger they simply will not follow, but will flee from him, because they do not know the voice of strangers." (John 10:3-5 NASB)

II. His Sheep Have Eternal Life

a. His sheep will never perish

b. "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. (John 3:16 NASB)

c. "I am the door; if anyone enters through Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. (John 10:9 NASB)

III. His Sheep Are Safely In His Hands

a. No one is able to snatch them from His hands

b. No one is able to snatch them from God the Father’s hands

c. Jesus the Son and God the Father are one in the same

Invitation: If you are NOT one of Jesus’ sheep, He does not know you, you do not follow Him, you do not have eternal life, you will perish, you are NOT safely in His hands.
