Matthew 9:13

But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance

The day after Election Day I heard a lot about the candidate that won the election being a candidate for change. There were a lot of generalizations used about change but really nothing specific about his plan for change.

I will say one thing is for certain, “change is coming, things have always changed, one thing is for certain in this world; change is inevitable, weather we like it or not.”

But outside of this world in the spiritual world we can have confidence that God will never change He is the same yesterday today and tomorrow. Amen!

When Jesus stepped onto the scene the world changed:

1. In Jesus’ day: Woman had little value

A. she could be divorced at a whim.

B. she couldn’t own property

C. she couldn’t divorce her husband for any circumstances.

D. her testimony wasn’t valid in court.

E. in the Roman world they were treated like property. (Much like in the Islamic world)

F. they were used for pleasure and having babies and weren’t much more that slaves.

2. In Jesus’ day: Legalism had replaced the spirit of the Law

A. the Pharisees where the great legalist of there day.

B. They had forgotten the spirit of the Law.

Here is why we have Change today: (examples of Jesus’ plan for change)

Children and unborn gain respect:

Jesus Said:” "Let the little children come to me, and stop keeping them away, because the kingdom of heaven belongs to people like these." ...Matt 19:14

Sinner (woman) granted mercy:

John 8:7 so when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you let him first cast a stone at her.

Value of marriage:

Love Your Wife As Jesus Christ Loved The Church. Ephesians 5:25.

If a man loves his wife as Christ Loved the Church it will be a sacrificial love.

Change in worship: Matt 21:12/Mark 11:15 and John 2:14-16

Jesus entered the temple and overturned the money changers tables drove them out with a whip. And told them to get these things out of here!!!

Change in Slavery: (there were more slaves in the Roman Empire than citizens at one point)

1 Corinthians 7:22 If the Lord called you when you were a slave, you are the Lord’s free person. In the same way, if you were free when you were called, you are Christ’s slave...

Don’t think he was tough on politicians?

If you look at the exchange between Pontius Pilot and Jesus: Jesus says he has no power over him unless from above “pilot asks Jesus if he was the king of the Jews. He replied yes, for that purpose I have come. After that he tried to free Jesus.

Yes! Jesus changed the face the world, but not only the world He changed all of humanities state by giving us a way to be saved.

He has changed my life and the life of everyone who has believed in Him.

1. He set the captives free.

2. He set us free from the bondage of sin.

3. He has healed are infirmities

4. Given us life more abundantly.

5. Given us this great nation we live in to worship him.

6 He has offered all of humanity the gift of eternal life

Conclusion: Now it’s up to you to choose it. Before you is two doors, clearly marked heaven and hell. The door of hell you can open that one up by yourself. You can choose to enter that door all by yourself just keep living for yourself, walk right in.

But the other Door, that one that lead to heaven can only be opened from the inside. Revelation 3:20 Jesus says “’Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me. ...

I know you hear his voice right now on the otherside calling, he loves you, and he has come for you tonight! Won’t you let him in?
