VIII. MAIN BODY:
A. JESUS came to do GOD's will
"Then I said, Behold, here I am, coming to do Your will, O God"
Psalms 40:6-8 (Amplified Bible)
40:6 Sacrifice and offering You do not desire, nor have You delight in them; You have given me the capacity to hear and obey [Your law, a more valuable service than] burnt offerings and sin offerings [which] You do not require.
40:7 Then said I, Behold, I come; in the volume of the book it is written of me;
40:8 I delight to do Your will, O my God; yes, Your law is within my heart.
Hebrews 10:9-10 (Amplified Bible)
10:9 He then went on to say, Behold, [here] I am, coming to do Your will. Thus He does away with and annuls the first (former) order [as a means of expiating sin] so that He might inaugurate and establish the second (latter) order.
10:10 And in accordance with this will [of God], we have been made holy (consecrated and sanctified) through the offering made once for all of the body of Jesus Christ (the Anointed One).
John 4:34 (Amplified Bible)
4:34 Jesus said to them, My food (nourishment) is to do the will (pleasure) of Him Who sent Me and to accomplish and completely finish His work.
John 5:30 (Amplified Bible)
5:30 I am able to do nothing from Myself [independently, of My own accord—but only as I am taught by God and as I get His orders]. Even as I hear, I judge [I decide as I am bidden to decide. As the voice comes to Me, so I give a decision], and My judgment is right (just, righteous), because I do not seek or consult My own will [I have no desire to do what is pleasing to Myself, My own aim, My own purpose] but only the will and pleasure of the Father Who sent Me.
GOD's will is the salvation of all men and the LORD came to execute it.
2 Peter 3:9 (Amplified Bible)
3:9 The Lord does not delay and is not tardy or slow about what He promises, according to some people’s conception of slowness, but He is long-suffering (extraordinarily patient) toward you, not desiring that any should perish, but that all should turn to repentance.
B. JESUS came to fulfill what is written
"[to fulfill] what is written of Me in the volume of the Book"
The power of the written book, JESUS came to fulfill all 300 prophecies regarding Him, and one of the last left unfulfilled is the rapture and second coming.
Matthew 2:5 (Amplified Bible)
2:5 They replied to him, In Bethlehem of Judea, for so it is written by the prophet:
Matthew 26:24 (Amplified Bible)
26:24 The Son of Man is going just as it is written of Him; but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been better (more profitable and wholesome) for that man if he had never been born!
Romans 15:3 (Amplified Bible)
15:3 For Christ did not please Himself [gave no thought to His own interests]; but, as it is written, The reproaches and abuses of those who reproached and abused you fell on Me.
IX. CONCLUSION:
Thank You very much LORD JESUS, for You ended up the first system of sacrifices to setup the new system of grace for us.
Hebrews 10:9 (New Century Version)
10:9 Then he said, “Look, I have come to do what you want.“ God ends the first system of sacrifices so he can set up the new system.
