JESUS OUR WAY TO

THE FATHER

JOHN 14 1-6

Let not your heart be troubled:

Ye believe in God, believe also in me

In my Father’s House are many mansions:

If it were not so I would have told you.

I go to prepare a place for you.

And if I go and prepare a place for you

I will come again, and receive you unto

Myself; that where I am there ye may be

Also.

And whither I go ye know, and the way,

Ye know

Thomas saith unto him, Lord we know

not whither Thou goest; and how can we

know the way?

Jesus saith unto him I am the way, the truth

And the life: no man cometh unto the Father

But by me!

Ole doubting Thomas must have been daydreaming

Jesus had just told them He was going to heaven

Then Thomas caught the tail end of his paragraph

Whither I go ye know, and the way ye know

He woke up with a start

We don’t know where you’re going

How can we know the way??

And Jesus gave us one of his very greatest

Answers of all time!!!!

HE IS THE WAY!

That’s for lost people

HE IS THE TRUTH

That’s for learned people

For as we can so clearly see today

That He is the way the truth and the life!!

Jesus Christ taught his Disciples many wonderful

Things : but the main thing that He taught them

Was that he was going away but He would be back!

Our greatest victory of all was when Jesus went

To that old cross and hung and died there

For your sins and for mine!!!

It was the victory over death and nothing

that I can say or do – and nothing that you

can say or do will ever make it

anything more or

Anything less

than just that!!!

Just like that old song

VICTORY IN JESUS!!!!

John 19:30 says:

When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, IT IS FINISHED

And he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost!

Children the key word here is finished

This means that We have two things to

remember

#1- we are no longer on the fleshly side

or the earthly side of the cross

But now were on the spiritual side of it!!!!

It means that this is where we put our faith

in the finished work of the cross!!

When we put our faith in the finished work

That’s where we cross over to the spiritual

Side or the; Heavenly side of the cross!!

The picture of the cross is only a reminder of the

Death and suffering that our Jesus had to go through

And it should be that it was the only way!

The only acceptable payment by

God’s only begotten Son for the many sins

Of us people!!!!

#2- Jesus is no longer hanging on the cross

He said it’s finished

Yet we continue to hang on to the cross as if

It has some power

People the power is in the precious blood of Jesus Christ, That Was shed for us on that cross

When we try to put the cross first

That’s when we get over on the wrong side

Of the cross

We are on the fleshly side or the earthly side

PEOPLE WE NEED TO STAY ON THE

HEAVENLY SIDE!!!!! AMEN

When we put our faith in Jesus Christ

We flipped the switch from the death and

suffering side of the cross to the living and

heavenly side of the cross!!!

After Jesus died on the cross

The curtain that separated the

holy of holies from The temple –

was torn in two

The curtain that separated the place where

the priests would meet with God once a

year ; and only with blood - was torn from

the top to the bottom!!

Now We can go directly to the throne

Of God,

Through His Son Jesus Christ

I think the curtain symbolized God’s Son

Giving His life for us people!!

Jesus’ Body laid in the tomb and after the

Sabbath was over;

Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother

of James - And Salome went to anoint Jesus’

body; And as they were going to Jesus

and As they were approaching the tomb

They asked each other

Who’ll roll away the stone??

And two of Jesus’ disciples were walking along to

Emmaus and discussing what had happened in Jerusalem!

Who will I meet on the way to Emmaus?

The angel of the Lord told Mary Magdalene

That Jesus was going on ahead of them

Into Galilee!

Who will go before us to Galilee??

Jesus walked through the walls and doors of the upper room

To where the eleven were eating!

Who will I meet in Church?
