To show that Moses as a type of CHRIST offered on the altar, both burnt offering and peace offering. In the New Testament, CHRIST is all in all, CHRIST is the (a) One offering Himself up to GOD, (b) CHRIST is the Altar, (c) CHRIST is the Burnt Offering, (d) CHRIST is the Peace Offering.

Joshua 8:31 (Amplified Bible)

8:31 As Moses the servant of the Lord commanded the Israelites, as it is written in the Book of the Law of Moses, an altar of unhewn stones, upon which no man has lifted up an iron tool; and they offered on it burnt offerings to the Lord and sacrificed peace offerings.

Praise, worship and thank You very much LORD JESUS because of You I gained access to Heaven, have constant Perfect peace, all because of One Perfect Offering - the LORD JESUS CHRIST.

A. JESUS was offered on an altar

"As Moses the servant of the Lord commanded the Israelites, as it is written in the Book of the Law of Moses, an altar of unhewn stones, upon which no man has lifted up an iron tool;"

Aleph-Tav, the signature of the LORD JESUS CHRIST, who is the Alpha and the Omega has been placed after the word "commanded". They thought GOD really commanded Moses and Moses can fully obey, it's in the obedience of CHRIST until death that brought us righteousness and peace.

2:23 This Jesus, when delivered up according to the definite and fixed purpose and settled plan and foreknowledge of God, you crucified and put out of the way [killing Him] by the hands of lawless and wicked men.

CHRIST's obedience unto death brought us justification, salvation and sanctification and He sealed it with His resurrection.
