To show that if we have JESUS, we have both: life here on earth and resurrected life with Him.

Jesus told her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying.

Everyone who lives in me and believes in me will never ever die. Do you believe this, Martha?”

V. THESIS:

CHRIST is both resurrection and the life, if we have Him we have it all.

This disciple is the one who testifies to these events and has recorded them here. And we know that his account of these things is accurate.

B. Theme: Son of GOD

C. Style: Genesis

D. Place of writing: Ephesus, uncertain but according to Bible scholars, this is where Apostle John headed the seven churches but he continues to reside in Ephesus

E. Time of writing: A.D. 70 most probably but uncertain

VIII. MAIN BODY:

A. JESUS is The Resurrection and The Life

"Jesus told her, “I am the resurrection and the life."

1. There are about 41 occurences of the word "resurrection" in the King James version, new testament. Resurrection came from the Greek word:"anastasis" meaning standing up again, a resurrection from death, recovery, raised to life again, rise from the dead, rising again. That's why CHRIST have to die first before He can be resurrected. It's GOD's Will of saving us, if CHRIST only died and never rose from the dead, then we don't have salvation. He saved us from death so we can have new life. While the word "life" appeared 450 times in the whole Bible and 186 times in New Testament alone in the King James version. What does this mean? Simply GOD wants us to live first.. Living is hard but with CHRIST it's nothing. Life came from the Greek word:"psuche" meaning spirit.. GOD is Spirit, without the Spirit we're all dead, so praise and worship the HOLY SPIRIT because it is He who gives us life. And the life is the LORD JESUS CHRIST.

So you see, just as death came into the world through a man, now the resurrection from the dead has begun through another man.

Just as everyone dies because we all belong to Adam, everyone who belongs to Christ will be given new life.

But there is an order to this resurrection: Christ was raised as the first of the harvest; then all who belong to Christ will be raised when he comes back.

1. Before you can live for someone else, you need to believe that person first. Anyone is a word that gives hope and life, it's open for anyone. CHRISTianity is not a closed social networking site or group that you need to be invited first by another CHRISTian thougt at some point it is seen that way. The invitation is there, it stands. Anyone by opening the Bible can come to GOD and start to believe. Believe and faith starts from the heart, it's a personal thing or inward thing. Only faith in JESUS will save none else will do.

But these are written so that you may continue to believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing in him you will have life by the power of his name.
