VI. TITLE:

JESUS is Life

VII. EXPLICATION:

John written by John the Beloved, also called John, the Revelator who wrote the book of Revelation.

VIII. MAIN BODY:

A. Jesus's First Coming To Introduce Life - JESUS Came into this world 2,000 years ago. All of us are looking back in time to receive JESUS as our LORD, GOD, MASTER and SAVIOR. This is not just dead history taught in expired books in school, but this is real, true story of GOD who turned a human being for all of us. JESUS left Heaven to save us.

John 14:6 Jesus said to him, I am the Way and the Truth and the Life; no one comes to the Father except by (through) Me.

John 1:4 In Him was Life, and the Life was the Light of men.

John 11:25 Jesus said to her, I am [Myself] the Resurrection and the Life. Whoever believes in (adheres to, trusts in, and relies on) Me, although he may die, yet he shall live;

Greek word: Zoe meaning life, lifetime

John 17:3 And this is eternal life: [it means] to know (to perceive, recognize, become acquainted with, and understand) You, the only true {and} real God, and [likewise] to know Him, Jesus [as the] Christ (the Anointed One, the Messiah), Whom You have sent.

Application: Go for JESUS, the Life Himself.

B. That we might have life - the world is dead without JESUS.

Romans 3:23 Since all have sinned and are falling short of the honor {and} glory which God bestows {and} receives.

Romans 6:23 For the wages which sin pays is death, but the [bountiful] free gift of God is eternal life through (in union with) Jesus Christ our Lord.

Genesis 2:16 And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, You may freely eat of every tree of the garden;

Genesis 2:17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil {and} blessing and calamity you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.

Application: Accept JESUS into your life. Make JESUS your Life.

C. Not just life, but abundant life.

More Abundantly - Greek word: "Perissos" - more abundant, super abundance, beyond measure, exceedingly, exceedingly abundant and much more

So the Greek word changed from zoe to perissos. There's more to life, there's more to spiritual life.

Psalms 36:8 They relish {and} feast on the abundance of Your house; and You cause them to drink of the stream of Your pleasures.

2 Corinthians 9:8 And God is able to make all grace (every favor and earthly blessing) come to you in abundance, so that you may always {and} under all circumstances {and} whatever the need be self-sufficient [possessing enough to require no aid or support and furnished in abundance for every good work and charitable donation].

ILLUSTRATION: We all see rich and wealthy people without the LORD JESUS CHRIST able to treat us breakfast or lunch, but have you seen a person willing to treat you your taxes?

Matthew 17:27 However, in order not to give offense {and} cause them to stumble [that is, to cause them to judge unfavorably and unjustly] go down to the sea and throw in a hook. Take the first fish that comes up, and when you open its mouth you will find there a shekel. Take it and give it to them to pay the temple tax for Me and for yourself.

JESUS in His Abundant Life here on earth, treated Peter for his Roman taxes.

Four drachma or a shekel would be exactly enough to pay the temple tax (2 drachmas) . Tilapia is often referred to as St. Peter's fish but it was not mentioned in this verse what type of fish Peter caught.

JESUS is the Owner of the Temple for the Father of JESUS is GOD. JESUS called the Temple as His house.
