JESUS IN THE GARDEN

Matt .26; 36Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder.

37And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy.

38Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me.

39And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.

40And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour?

Mark 26; 32And they came to a place which was named Gethsemane: and he saith to his disciples, Sit ye here, while I shall pray.

Shortly after the supper with his disciples Jesus took Peter James and John and went to Gethsemane. This was where he talked with God about what was ahead for him.

He asks his disciples sit while he went and prayed.

(1) His soul was sorrowful

From the weight of sins of the world.

From the fall of men

From the cross that was ahead

(2) Knowing his cross was just ahead.

The shame

The pain

The stress of his own not accepting him.

Praying to the father for his will to be done

(3) Jesus went a little farther and prayed.

He fell on his face

Called o my father if possible

Let this cup pass from me

Not my will but your will be done

God have your way

(4) Jesus was trading his life for ours

He was giving all for us

His precious blood was shed for you and i

We were on his heart and mind

He was reading himself for the final hour.

(5) Let this cup pass.

The weight of sin

The cruel death that was ahead

Future of man kind

Chose of life are death for all

The washing out sins in his blood.

(6) He returns his disciples were sleeping.

They could not stay one hour

They did not watch as he ask

The world today is still sleeping

The world today are not watching

Most people today want give Jesus 1 hour.

His prayers were for you and I

(7) The time is now ready.

Ready to enter the city

Ready to face his accusers

Ready for his walk with the cross

Ready to fulfill the scripture ( If I be lifted up I will draw all men unto me)
