To explore and appreciate the power, benefits, and joy that come from knowing Christ.
Good morning, dear friends. I am filled with joy and excitement as we delve into our sermon today, exploring the beauty, power, and joy of knowing our Lord Jesus Christ. I'm reminded of a quote by the respected theologian, A.W. Tozer, who once said, "What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us." And today, we focus on Jesus, the embodiment of God's love, grace, and mercy.
The power of knowing Jesus is a transformative power that transcends the physical and delves into the spiritual, reshaping our hearts, minds, and souls. When we come to know Jesus, we are not merely acknowledging a historical figure or a religious icon, but rather, we are entering into a deep, personal relationship with the Son of God, the Savior of the world.
A. Knowing Jesus is not just about knowing His life story or His teachings, but it’s also about experiencing His love, His grace, His mercy, and His power in our lives. It is about allowing Him to change us from the inside out, to mold us into His image, and to empower us to live lives that reflect His love and goodness.
B. The power of knowing Jesus is seen in the transformation that takes place in our lives. We begin to see things from a different perspective, a heavenly perspective. Our values change, our priorities shift, and our actions reflect the love and grace that we have received. We become less focused on ourselves and more focused on others, less concerned with our own desires and more concerned with the will of God.
C. The power of knowing Jesus is also seen in the strength and courage that we receive. In times of difficulty and struggle, knowing Jesus gives us the strength to persevere, the courage to face our fears, and the hope to keep going. It is knowing that we are not alone, that we have a Savior who understands our struggles, who has faced our temptations, and who is always there to help us, guide us, and comfort us.
D. Moreover, the power of knowing Jesus is seen in the peace and joy that fill our hearts. In a world filled with turmoil and uncertainty, knowing Jesus brings a peace that surpasses all understanding, a peace that is not dependent on our circumstances but on the unchanging love and faithfulness of God. It brings a joy that is not based on our achievements or possessions, but on the assurance of our salvation and the hope of eternal life.
E. The power of knowing Jesus is not a power that is meant to be kept to ourselves. It is a power that is meant to be shared, to be spread, to be used to bring hope, healing, and transformation to the world around us. It is a power that enables us to love unconditionally, to forgive unreservedly, and to serve selflessly. It is a power that compels us to reach out to the lost, to comfort the hurting, and to stand up for the oppressed.
Knowing Jesus Christ is not just about eternal life after death; it's about experiencing a fulfilling, purposeful life here on earth ... View this full PRO sermon free with PRO
