Summary: You can always count on Jesus Christ to help us out of trouble because He is our Living Redeemer

Job 19:25

Topic- Jesus Christ, Our Living Redeemer

A redeemer is someone who buys back something that was once theirs. A redeemer is someone who comes to save, rescues, or deliver someone out of trouble by paying a great price for their freedom. Jesus Christ is considered our living redeemer because he came to save and deliver us out of sin by paying a great price for it. The price that Jesus Christ paid for our deliverance from sin was his life. He died upon the cross for our sins so that he may redeem us, deliver us, and save us from our sins; for our sins leads us to hell and separates us from God, but thanks be to God that Jesus Christ is our living redeemer who saves, deliver, and redeems us from going to hell. For the scripture says in Mark 10:45, “For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

Romans 3:23-24 says, “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.”

Galatians 3:13 says, “Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangs on a tree.”

Colossians 1:14 says, “In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins.”

I Peter 1:18-19 says, “Forasmuch as you know that you were not redeemed with corruptible things as silver and gold, form your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish, and without spot.”

We can find redemption in Jesus Christ because He is our Living Redeemer.

Not only can Jesus Christ redeem us from our sins, but he can deliver and keep you from losing your mind when you are going through some tough times. This was the case with Job in Job 19:25. In the book of Job, we learn that Job was a righteous and a blessed man who was rich in money, possession and cattle. He was a man who was blessed to have a beautiful family and a beautiful wife. Not only was Job a blessed and a righteous man, but he was also a praying man who prayed not only for himself to be blessed, but prayed for his family and others to be blessed. But one day, Satan wanted to prove to God that if he destroyed everything that Job held dear to his heart, then Job would turn his back on God. So God permitted Satan to stricken Job with adversity as long he did not touch is soul. And so one day, in less than 24 hours, Job lost everything he had. He lost all of his money. He lost all of his possessions. He lost all of his cattle. He lost all of his children by death because of an unexpected storm that had come upon them. Then later on, Job’s health and his physical condition began to deteriorate to the point that he no longer looked attractive to his wife any more. Job’s wife couldn’t stand to see Job suffer so much that she told Job to curse God and die. And because Job’s wife couldn’t take it any more, she left him all by himself. And to make matters worse, Job had some friends who were accusing him for some sin that he may have committed because they claim that if you suffer in this life, it is because you had done something wrong.

But don’t you know that you don’t have to do anything wrong in this life to suffer. You see, because we have sin in the world, because we have some sinful people in the world, and because there is a devil, that is enough to let you know that we will suffer, and you don’t have to be a bad person to suffer in this life. There are people who don’t even smoke, but yet they still get cancer. There are people who don’t even drink alcohol, but yet they still suffer from liver or kidney failure. There are some people who don’t even chase women, or men, but yet some how they become stricken with AIDS. There are some people who have been working hard for 20 to 30 years on one job, but yet they get laid off, and lose everything they had worked hard for.

There are some people who had been married for 10, 15, or 20 years, but yet one day their spouse decides they don’t want to be married to them anymore. There are some people who have raised their children in the church, provided their children with the best of everything, provided their children with a descent home, sent their children to the best schools, sent children to the best colleges, but yet their children ended up in prison, addicted to drugs, or dead.
