JESUS CAME TO GIVE US ABUNDANT LIFE

1.INHERITANCE

" The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. " John 10:10

" I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints " Ephesians 1:18

Jesus came to this world to give us abundant life. The abundant life is a life where we enjoy the inheritance we receive from Christ. God wants us to enjoy salvation,peace , joy, eternal life and all the blessings He has provided for us.That is why Jesus came to this world.

2.INCREASE

" May the LORD make you increase,both you and your children. " Psalms 115:14

" The path of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn,shining ever brighter till the full light of day. " Proverbs 4:18

The abundant life is a life of increase and growth.God does not want us to be stagnant in our spiritual life. He wants our life to be increasing in its usefulness and effectiveness.We must desire such a life of growth. This is the abundant life that Jesus came to give us.

3.INCENSE

" But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of him. For we are to God the aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing. " II Corinthians 2:14-15

The abundant life is a life which is a sweet savour unto God. It is an incense of a life that is pleasing to God. It is a life that is being transformed into image of Christ. This is the life that Jesus came to give us.

4.ILLUMINATION

"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house." Matthew 5:14

The abundant life is a life which shines as a light in this dark world. It is a life which is an example for people to follow. It is a life through which people can find the way to God and be delivered from the darkness in their life. This is the life that Jesus came to give us.

5.INFLUENCE

" You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men. " Matthew 5:13

The abundant life is a life which is a positive influence in this world. Like a salt it enriches the place wherever it is placed. A salt without savour has no influence. similarly a person without a good testimony has no influence.God wants us to impact the place where we are whether at home or at work or among friends and relatives.This is

the life that Jesus came to give us.

6.INSTRUCTION

" Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." John 8:32

" But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. " John 16:13

The abundant life is a life which is well instructed in the truths of God. It is a life which is aware of the commandments and the promises of God. It is not a life of ignorance and confusion.God wants us to know the truth which will set us free. This is the life that Jesus came to give us.

7.ITINERY

" I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you. " Psalms 32:8

" Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. " Philippians 3:12-14

" Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air. " I Corinthians 9 :24-26
