Jesus Breathes On Us.
Contributed by Dr.w.samuel Legon on Oct 17, 2017 (message contributor)
Summary: Know Jesus better that he will lead you in life.
Jesus breathes on us.
John 20: 20 And when he had so said, he shewed unto them his hands and his side. Then were the disciples glad, when they saw the Lord.
21 Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.
22 And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:
23 Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained.
Jesus breathes on Adam he became a living soul.
The master breathes on the disciples they received the Holy Spirit.
When we come close to Jesus he can then breathe on us.
(1) It brings peace to our fears. Ver .19
Fear of the unknown.
Fear of failure.
Fear of rejection.
Fear of death.
1st Cor.15: 55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
When we have Jesus he calms are our fears.
(2) He can make us glad. Ver.20
When we are glad we are full of cheer.
. Psalms 92:4 “For thou, LORD, hast made me glad through thy work: I will triumph in the works of thy hands.”
The joy of the lord. Nehemiah 8: 10 Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.
The joy of our lord is our strength.
We make our minds to be sad are glad.
(3) Jesus commissions us. Ver.21
He calls. 2nd Timothy 1: 9 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,
He equips Luke 9: 1 Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases.
He sends Luke 9: 2 And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.
(4) Jesus wants to breathe on us today.
Listen to him today.
Walk with him.
Let him love you.
Talk with him.
Lear to love him as he loves you.
