Summary: Jesus loved us with His heart, soul, and mind, that is His Inner being and wants us to love Him that way as well.

The Apostle Paul prayed the believers in Christ, to be "strengthened with might by His Spirit in the inner man: so that Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith, so that you may be rooted in love." (Ephesians 3:16,17) Every Christian has a "inner man." which could be defined as the spiritual part, consisting of heart, soul and spirit.

So then man has an outer part as well which is our body. The Bible says "The outward man perishes, and the inner man is renewed day by day." (2 Corinthians 4:16) The inner being is where the spirit lives inside. The inner self is more important to focus on that the outward -- body.

When Jesus was the crowds, they were very much concerned about their physical needs, eating, and their clothing and their homes. But Jesus is saying if you focus on the spiritual things first, like the Kingdom of God, then all the other things you are worried about will be given to you from the Heavenly Father Himself.

Jesus said it is not that which goes into a man that pollutes the man but rather that which comes out of him are evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, and murders. (Matthew 6:21) The strength of your heart, your inner person is what determines whether you will stand or fall.

Paul sees the importance of being strengthened in the inner man by God's Spirit. The circumstances may not change, but God gives the power to overcome them. The Bible says, The joy of the Lord is your strength (Nehemiah 8:10) Even in the situation, there can be joy which comes the Spirit of God.

The Bible encourages us, "The peace of God. . . shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. God puts peace into our inner being to accomplish anything given to us.

We know that inner strength comes from God. There are times in daily lives we will need that inner strength for example; Stephen, one the first church deacons, was 'full of grace and power, the indwelling of the Spirit. saw Jesus standing next God on the right hand. But the religious leaders did not like it and stoned him to death. (Acts 7:54-60) God gave him the inner strength to do all that he did with courage.

Paul also talked about putting on a spiritual suit to fight the devil. (Ephesians 6) It's called the armor of God, to help us defeat the devil as we are commanded to 'resist the devil.' God gives us inner strength to fight the battle.

CONCLUSION --- Someone said it this way --- "TAKE ALL THE HELP YOU CAN GET --- EVERY WEAPON GOD HAS ISSUED --- SO THAT WHEN IT IS ALL OVER BUT THE SHOUTING --- YOU ARE STILL ON YOUR FEET.!! Amen.
