Summary: It's not about us, It' all about Jesus.
It’s All About Jesus
John 1:15-18 So the Word became human and made His home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen His glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son. 15John testified about Him (Jesus) when He shouted to the crowds, “This is the one I was talking about when I said, ‘Someone is coming after me who is far greater than I am, for He existed long before me.’” 16From His abundance we have all received one gracious blessing after another. 17For the law was given through Moses, but God’s unfailing love and faithfulness came through Jesus Christ. 18No one has ever seen God. But the unique One (Jesus), who is Himself God, is near to the Father’s heart. He has revealed God to us.
I. Let Jesus Outshine You! (vs 15)
A. Jesus was there long before you
B. Jesus will be here long after you
II. Remember it's all about Jesus! (vs 16-17)
A. Every good gift (blessing) is from God.
James 1:17 Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.
1. Your material things
2. Your spouse and children
3. You job.
4. Your spiritual life
Philippians 3:7-9 7Yet whatever gains I had, these I have come to regard as loss because of Christ. 8More than that, I regard everything as loss because of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For His sake I have suffered the loss of all things, and I regard them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ 9and be found in Him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but one that comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God based on faith.
B. The Old Testament was to prepare us for Jesus
1. The OT Laws (rules) were show we need Jesus
Galatians 3:24 Therefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
2. The OT sacrifices were a picture of Jesus death
C. Brag on what Jesus is doing and not on yourself

b. Is He changing and growing you?
c. Is He with you in a hard time?
2. What is Jesus doing in someone else's life?
III. Jesus is God (vs 18)

What if God showed up?
How would He Act?
What would He say?
Because Jesus is God
• I can trust Him for “yesterday”
• I can trust Him for “today”
• I can trust Him for all my “tomorrows”
