IT’S JUST NOT POSSIBLE

MATT 17:20

A. Jesus said, that if we had the faith nothing would be impossible ¡V but is that true? Of course it is because Jesus said it. However He did not mean that everything is possible because the Word of God teaches that there are things that are impossible.

B. In Matt. 19, it says that nothing is impossible with God. However, is that true?

For instance - Heb 6:18 says, "It is impossible for God to lie."

Actually there are several things which are impossible for God to do. He cannot sin, lie, break a promise, or do anything that is contrary to His divine nature or will. Some might to say it different, "He will not do anything contrary to His divine will or nature." However, He being God - It does makes it impossible for Him to do these things.

While this Scripture is definitely true. It does require a qualification. Remember that Paul said, "I can do all things through Christ who Strengthenth Me." So I can do everything that He want me to do. There are some things that God does not want me to be..

T/S I WOULD LIKE TO SHARE SOME THINGS THE WORD SAYS ARE IMPOSSIBLE.

Now I hate to preach a message in the negative but remember that I believe in the power of Negative Thinking.

However I don’t want you to go away thinking that I don’t believe in the impossible. I love the words to the great song by Joe Darion:

To dream the impossible dream,

To fight the unbeatable foe,

To bear with unbearable sorrow,

To run where the brave dare not go.

To reach the unreachable star!

This is my quest,

To follow that star,

No matter how hopeless,

No matter how far;

To fight to right, the unrightable wrong

To love pure and chaste from afar,

To try when your arms are too weary,

To run where the brave dare not go.

To reach the unreachable star!

To dream the impossible dream!

As Much as I believe in the ability to attain the impossible ¡V I do believe there are impossible things.

I. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO TAKE IT WITH US WHEN WE GO.

1 Tim 6:7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.

I know that you have heard the old statement: What did He leave? He left it all.

Remember what Job said, ( KJV) . . . . Naked came I out of my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord. Job 1:21

Isn’t it strange in the light of the eternal ages ¡V We spend all our time and effort on the here and now. Here was things grow old and deteriorate. Many, many take no through of the countless ages of eternity.

II. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE THAT OFFENSES WON’T COME.

Luke 17:1 Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but that offenses will come: but woe unto him, through whom they come!

This is why our Lord gave iron clad instructions as what to do when we offend others and when others offend us.

The most simple rule of forgiveness: Eph 4:31,32 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamor, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.

III. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO PLEASE GOD WITHOUT FAITH.

Heb 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

TRUST - BELIEFE - FAITH ARE ALL THE SAME GREEK ROOT WORD AND

The Adjective FAITHFULNESS is also.

Heb 11:1 TLB What is faith? It is the confident assurance that something we want is going to happen. It is the certainty that what we hope for is waiting for us, even though we cannot see it up ahead.

We have this kind of faith in a light switch.

IV. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR A SAVED MAN TO FALL AWAY.

Heb 6:4-6 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

On March 8th 1928, in Hartford, Conn.- Michael Anthony Cappa had a son born to him. He named him Carmonnutioua Cappa (we know him as Carmen). He was 10 inches long and weighted 15 lbs. ļ That baby might have grown up to make the worst Spaghetti Sauce in the world and his dad may have wanted to claim that He never new him but it would not have changed the fact:
