Recognize the lostness around us, understand our surroundings, and feel the urgency to participate in God's work, as illustrated in John 4:27-42, where a Samaritan woman's testimony led many to believe in Jesus.
Good morning, family! You know, it's so easy to get caught up in our own bubbles that we often forget to look at the broader picture. We may forget to see the lostness, to truly know our surroundings, and to feel the urgency of involvement. Today, we're gonna dig into John 4:27-42, and I pray that it stirs something within us, prompting us to action.
But before we dive in, let me share a quote from Rick Warren. He once said, "The way you store up treasure in heaven is by investing in getting people there." It's quite fitting, isn't it?
Let's read the Scripture passage together:

Let's bow our heads for a moment of prayer.
Dear Lord, thank you for Your Word that continues to guide us. As we delve into this passage today, enlighten our hearts and minds. Help us to see the lost, understand our surroundings, and feel the urgency to become involved in Your work. Let our actions reflect your love and truth, and may we be vessels of Your grace. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Let’s get started.
Seeing the lostness is about recognizing the spiritual condition of those around us, understanding their need for Christ, and taking action to meet that need.
Jesus does this: He sees the lostness in the Samaritan woman at the well. He sees her spiritual thirst, her need for the living water that only He can provide. And He doesn't just see it, He addresses it. He engages with her, shares the truth with her, and ultimately leads her to faith in Him.
Acknowledging our own spiritual need: We are all lost without Christ. We all have a spiritual thirst that can only be quenched by the living water that He provides. When we truly see our own lostness, it compels us to reach out to others with the truth of the Gospel.
Not always easy: It requires us to step outside of our comfort zones, to engage with people who may be different from us, to confront our own prejudices and biases. It requires us to be intentional, to actively look for opportunities to share the Gospel. It requires us to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit's leading, to be willing to follow His prompting even when it's uncomfortable or inconvenient.
Requires us to be compassionate: It's not enough to simply recognize the spiritual need in others, we must also care about meeting that need. We must be moved by the lostness we see, moved to action, moved to share the hope of the Gospel.
A continual process: As we grow in our faith, as we become more like Christ, our ability to see the lostness in others should also grow. We should become more attuned to the spiritual needs around us, more sensitive to the Holy Spirit's leading, more compassionate towards those who are lost.
Knowing our surroundings is not just about being aware of the physical environment around us, but also about understanding the spiritual and emotional climate of the people we interact with daily ... View this full PRO sermon free with PRO
