Allowing GOD to Work in your Spirit
2 Peter 3:14 Therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless; 15 and consider that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation—as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given to him, has written to you, 16 as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which untaught and unstable people twist to their own destruction, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures.17 You therefore, beloved, since you know this beforehand, beware lest you also fall from your own steadfastness, being led away with the error of the wicked; 18 but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen.
After much time pondering this scripture that God placed for deliverance today it is clear that we must understand that a farmer is the person engaged in agriculture, raising living organisms for food or raw materials. Whereas a Gardener practices the cultivating and growth of plants; yet the difference between a Gardener and Farmer is one works for beautification and the other more for food. Yet both are similar due to the process that is required in growing plants. Now the process of a successful farmer the steps that he must follow to have a great harvest are quite important. First there is the tilling of the field which is preparing the soil for planting. Next the farmer must fertilize the field which is to ensure that proper nutrients for the seeds that are to be planted. Then there is the planting of the seeds in the field. Understand that time, inspiration, nurturing, and harvesting are important in the farmer’s process. So let each of us think about it when the springtime comes, we all take time to prepare our pots and yards for nurturing beautiful flowers in the summer. It is clear that in this message we all are the fields in which our father in heaven tills fertilizes, plants, and harvests are done in each of daily by our heavenly father. Throughout the word of God there are several examples of how God toils in our souls and lives to bring forth a beautiful blossom in each of us. For instance, when Moses was a great leader in the Egyptian culture yet he was stripped and banished from the land he knew to go to the mountains where he heard the voice of God in the burning bush which lead him to be a great leader of God’s people. Another instance in the word of God is JOB who was a man that praise we God yet he faced strong adversities and in spite of how it looked losing everything he owned and loved he still held strong to his faith and continued in patience to praise our father in heaven! Yet when we look at our walk in this life how many times we have faced a situations or circumstances and question why now. There are 4 key points that must be addressed in this message today:
1. Respect of Time and Salvation – preparing
2. Finding the inspiration – planting
3. Spiritual Guard – nurturing
4. Glorify God – Harvesting
Now each of these points is important for us to blossom in the realms of God.
Let's begin with verse 15 which gives us “And consider that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation” this section it is clear that we must respect time. First let me give the definition of time and salvation. Time is defined as the measure or measurable period during which an action process or condition; Also to set the tempo, speed, or duration of. Salvation is defined as deliverance from the power of sin. When we look at this scripture we have to regard the time in which we live as a time of salvation in The Lord; Just as the Farmer makes preparations for the planting season. He first plows the soils then he tills it with fertilizers in preparation to receive the planting of the seeds. We have to view our personal walk in life as a garden because when we all think back in each of our life's journey how God has plowed in our souls which generated the desire in our hearts, minds and souls to change from living life in the fast lane as in the movie fast and furious; to walking in our salvation waiting for God to begin to plant into our souls deeper wisdom from his scripture. See we have to understand that the life in Christ Jesus is not an easy journey yet it is full of many learning experiences. Remember in Jeremiah 18:1-5 Jeremiah from the Lord, saying, Arise, and go down to the potter's house, and there I will cause thee to hear my words. Then I went down to the potter's house, and, behold, he wrought a work on the wheels. And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it. Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying, O house of Israel, cannot I do with you. See God is planting his word in our hearts just as he stated he would write his convent in our hearts.
