IT AIN’T OVER

INTRO: Something happen on the Day of Pentecost, Acts 2:1-4

And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. [2] And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. [3] And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. [4] And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Now Peter already knew something was going to happen, for in Acts 1:3-5 To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God: [4] And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me. [5] For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.

Baptized: by Strong’s , Greek, and Hebrews Dictionary said to make whelmed (i.e. fully wet); used only (in the N.T.) otherwise total submerged. Being Baptized is something that happens on the out side. It starts on the outside, but it has to get on the inside. Being filled get on the inside, then it began to flow. The filling is ongoing, continuously as seen in the present tense of Ephesians 5:18, that is keep on being filled, Ephesians 5:18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;

Since Paul compares the influences of wine and the filling of the Spirit, the word control can aptly, When we as Spirit filled believers let the Holy Ghost have control, they might say about us what they said about the ones that came out of the upper room. Acts 2:12-13 And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this? [13] Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine.

Yes!!! Sometimes we act a little strange, we lift our hands into the air and praise our God, and sometimes we SHOUT, go around speaking in tongue as the Sprit gives the utterance, Yes!!! We lay hands on the sick and ask God to heal them. Yes!!! We refuse to compromise, and live like the world. The Bible says be filled with the Spirit, YES YES I AM FILLED AND RUNNER OVER.

IT ALL ENDED IN THE BOOK OF ACTS RIGHT? {WRONG!}

There are some that will tell us the it all ended after Acts but you know what? I look and I can’t find one AMEN in the book of Acts. Amen means to agree or Quit or the end of, or Finished. Well I got just one thing to say, IT AIN’T OVER.

Acts 2:38-39 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. [39] For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
