Summary: God has a calling on your life, are you ready to accept the call?
It’s Go Time ( Jeremiah 1: 17-19)
Title of this sermon its It’s Go Time
Talk about a motivational speech before a big game, event
I have sit under several different coaches and heard several different speeches to get us motivated to go do our job on the field
But you talk about things are about to get real
We are talking about things are about to hit the fan
It doesn’t get any more simpler than these words
God is telling him that it is fixing to get a little bumpy, it’s going to get a little scary but I am here with you
Folks, let me tell you, it’s fixing to get a little bumpy, its going to get a little scary but God is here, he is with us
What is it that God has called you to do?
What is it that he is telling you to go do
But we keep acting like we don’t hear him b/c We are scared of the road that we are fixing to travel
It’s go time my friend and I assure you if he called you to it, he will bring you through it
Everyone in this room was born for a reason, you wasn’t a mistake, he created you for something
The question is, are you willing to answer the call
Are you willing to step up to the challenge
It’s go time, its go time, its go time
Lets back up to how this thing started
4&5) Before ole Jeremiah was even formed in the womb, God knew him
Hear me when I say this, before your parents even got together, God knew you
You was already a part of his plan, the perfect plan
We are walking around here sad a lot of the times
We should be excited, we was chosen by God
And we get the honor and the privilege to be part of his perfect and I mean perfect plan
God sanctified him ( set apart) and then ordained him as a prophet over the nations
When you was born, you was set apart
How awesome is that?
God has a plan, you are set apart, you are made for something
I think that we need to stop acting like we are the junior varsity and sitting back
No my friend, we are the varsity, we are a star player for God
God has never made a mistake and never will, you are here and here for a reason
We are chosen
6) Jeremiah did like we all do, we make excuses
We will spend more time arguing with God about how we can’t do something just to get out of doing it
Jeremiah said I do not know how to speak, I am to young
The call of God was revealed to Jeremiah while he was young, studies shows that he was between 19 - 25 years old
You do not have to be a certain age to be called by God
God has a perfect timeline and he knows what you can and can’t handle
It is up to us to accept whatever calling he has for us
And yes, everyone here has a calling
This I am to young or to old does not fly with God
God is not foolish and he knows exactly what he is doing
Our job is to trust and that gets in the way b/c one of the hardest thing to do in life is just let go
We are control freaks and want everything our way
Problem is, we wasn’t created to live for ourselves
Talk about tough, Jeremiahs dad was a priest and Jeremiah has been called by God to be a prophet
Imagine being a young adult and having that conversation
7) God said stop discrediting yourself, do not say you are to young
You must go to everyone I send you and say whatever I command you to say
Stop w/ the excuses, I am not good enough, smart enough, not strong enough
God says I made you for a reason - get up and lets get going, stop listening to the world, I know what you are capable of
8) God says do not be afraid of them, I will deliver you
Don’t be afraid, I am with you, I will rescue you
9) God touched his mouth and put his words into his mouth
When God calls you to do something, he will equip you with whatever it takes to get the job done
You are not fighting this alone
You may feel like he is nowhere around but he is right here with us
He literally has his hands on us and clearing the way for us this very moment
10) I appointed you for a reason
