To show that Issachar saw his own strength, rested on it and became a slave. Don't rest in your own strength but rest in the power of the LORD.

Genesis 49:14-15 (Amplified Bible)

Issachar is a strong-boned donkey crouching down between the sheepfolds.

And he saw that rest was good and that the land was pleasant; and he bowed his shoulder to bear [his burdens] and became a servant to tribute [subjected to forced labor].

A. Issachar is a strong beast of burden

Issachar from the Hebrew word means "he will bring a reward".

This is the inheritance of the tribe of Issachar according to their families, the cities and their villages.

Don't depend on your own strength. Yes, Issachar saw and magnified his strength as an ass that's why he became a slave to the mighty.

Don't rest in your past successes, but make new successes for the LORD.
