Is The Word Christian A Noun Or Verb?

Summary: We aren't called to be observers but to be doers.
1 John 3:16-19 (NLT)
16 We know what real love is because Jesus gave up his life for us.
So we also ought to give up our lives for our brothers and sisters.
This isn't necessarily dying physically for someone but we should be willing to give a part of ourselves for others because Jesus died for us.
17 If someone has enough money to live well and sees a brother or sister in need but shows no compassion—how can God’s love be in that person?
18 Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions. 19 Our actions will show that we belong to the truth, so we will be confident when we stand before God.
-We shouldn’t come to Church and fellowship and hear great sermons or Bible studies only. If we are in the light as he is in the light we SHOULD know God's will for us. That the word Christian is a Verb in all since of the word. It’s an action word. We are called to tell about Jesus and to help people that are in need. Help in need even when they have caused the problem themselves. That doesn’t mean that we should be a doormat when we are being used.
John 15:16 ESV
You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you.
- We just don't come to church on sundays mornings and nothing else. It says “bear fruit” then it says we “should abide” that means bear fruit, make disciples for Christ, help Church folks, help Christian and then help those that dont know Christ so they will respect us and get to know us as Christians.
“abide” can means, and should mean, we give financially and not only working in the Church or helping others; the Bible says we should give until it hurts!
`Not give what we have left over.
`Not give a little to make us feel good.
`Not let others in the Church give to keep the doors open and pay the bills paid for us!
~I had one person come to me and said he did stuff for the church to pay his Tithes; to pay his givings to God. I asked what he did so he told me. He was giving because : I guess he gave the Lord about 150 bucks for a year.
~Does doing stuff around the church count as giving? Yes, because we are called to do that also along with our money. Helping others is giving but it isn’t money. The Church is like any other organization. The church needs money to do what God organized them to do. We should give in all forms. God knows our ability to give and when we aren’t able and how we give. But that doesn’t mean if we can we don't have to give in all the ways that are possible that needs to be done in the Lords name.
Luke 6:31 ESV
And as you wish that others would do to you, do so to them.
-That’s real easy to understand.
----You think that means the same to God. He will give to you by what you give to him?
----God blesses us so much and we don't give to him the way he gives to us.
James 1:22-25
But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks intently at his natural face in a mirror. For he looks at himself and goes away and at once forgets what he was like. But the one who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, he will be blessed in his doing.
Matthew 7:12 ESV
“So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.
-This pertains giving to God and giving to mankind.
