Summary: What is love?

Illustration:

A young teenage boy and girl were sitting in a swing on her parents front porch way up in the mountains of North Carolina. They spent a lot of time there away from everyone just them. They would talk about all kinds of things. Things about when they had grown up. What would they do: goto college which for them meant moving away from home and getting enough money to go. For him it would mean getting a job or going into the military for some good job training. Would they have a family together?

Every Friday evening it was the same. He really liked coming to see her but her mother's cooking is another good thing about the visit.

When he got ready to go he would hold her hand and tell her he would see her next Friday and hug her. But tonight he was feeling tender towards her so he hugged her and said at the bottom of the porch stairs: You know I love you so much I would fight the biggest man, swim the deepest ocean, climb the highest mountain because I love you so much. He kisses her for the first time and turns to leave. Looking back at her as he opened the gate to leave. I’ll see you next Friday if it doesn't rain.

-So what was this Teenagermeaning of Love, Do you think it would apply to God and our relationship with Him?

-According to a research paper published in The Journal of Sexual Medicine, it takes just a fifth of a second for people to produce the chemicals that ignite the in famous' in-love' feeling.

So why do people search for God in so many different ways, for so many years?

-Is love a choice? Some say Love is making a choice every day, either to love or not to love. ... This doesn't mean we don't love the person; it means we are left with a choice. There is a difference between feeling love for someone (caring about a person) and loving someone (choosing to love that person with the deepest of feelings).

Neglecting Love is turning from it and turning from it you will fall away from love.

Having the grace of God is a wonderful gift, but if we neglect such a gift by turning away from God and His way of life, we would fall from it **Grace,is God's unmerited love and favor.(see Hebrews 6:4-6).

-Can love be saved in a love relationship.

Your love and relationship can be saved up until the point where somebody no longer cares. In order to be mutually invested, you both have to have a lot of empathy for one another. ... As long as there is still a strong connection between you and your partner, the love relationship is not over.

*The same is true of God and you.

I Corinthians 10:11-1211 These things happened to them as examples for us. They were written down to warn us who live at the end of the age.12 If you think you are standing strong, be careful not to fall.

-God's Love isn't a feeling only. God's love isn't only actions. God's love is feeling his love deep inside you when things are falling down around your feet. God's love is an action when you keep following this Love God has given tous when it seems impossible. THIS IS CHOOSING GOD'S LOVE!

The Apostle Paul tells us what God told him about Love:

1 Corinthians 13:4-8 NLT4 Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud 5 orrude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. 6 It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. 7 Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.8 Prophecy and speaking in unknown languages and special knowledge will become useless. But love will last forever!

-Why should we love?

1 John 4:7-10 NLT

7 Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God. 8 But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love.9 God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him.  (empathize this)10 This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.

CHOOSE TO LOVE GOD EVERY DAY, EVERY SECOND AND EVERY MOMENT OF THE DAY! -Choose to Love as God as much as is within us.-Choose to Love God because he Loved us first!-Choose to Love God because he gave His only begotten Son to Rescue is.
