Summary: The stick did not make the iron float, the connection between Elisha and God made the iron float! There is no magical power in the stick but certainly there was spiritual power in Elisha .

Made the iron float!

2 King 6:6”…..he (Prophet Elisha) cut off a stick and threw it in there and made the iron float.”

The stick did not make the iron float, the connection between Elisha and God made the iron float! There is no magical power in the stick but certainly there was spiritual power in Elisha that drew the iron to the surface of the water and the anointing of God that made the iron float. Glory to Jesus! Nothing is impossible with God! Amen.

How do you feel today? Stuck deep in the water like the iron? Fear not, His Hands can reach you into the deepest pit and the worst rut and bail you out! Fire would burn the dross and cleanse you to be His child! We need Elishas’ to rescue people stuck in hopeless pits, are you ready?

Today I received a friend request on facebook from a gentleman whom I met several years back during one of my outreach ministry, back while I was working for a multinational bank. He was a well learned man and much elder to me; yet, God sent me to preach the Gospel to him. I would dutifully visit his work place during lunch breaks and share the Gospel with him, he would smugly reply, ‘ you are a great talker.’ Undeterred I kept visiting him, one day he said, “ I have been drinking for several years and my life is in a mess”, I continued to share spiritual books with him and pray for him; the miracle happened one day, he accepted Jesus as his personal savior and also took water baptism. His facebook now is filled with love for Jesus and he proudly states: ‘I am proud to be a Christian!” Glory to Jesus! Yes, God can make the iron float!

We read of a woman in Samaria in John chapter 4, who was involved with 5 men and she was locked up in sin. But Jesus, the Living Water, walks up to her, breathes life into her and brings revival into the whole city through her. God not only delivered her from a sinful life but brought healing to the whole city of Samaria. Praise God! Yes, God can make the iron float!

My helper who worked for me for 14 years was from a hindu background, who got saved through our ministry. She was a dedicated girl who became part of our family, the real crisis came when we had to get her married! We had to face battles from her own parents, we had to struggle to find the right partner and much more. We fasted and prayed ceaselessly for her, God unraveled a miracle for this wonderful girl who stood with us in our most difficult situations, a young boy from our own ministry circle came forward to marry her – around ten pastors attended the marriage in the same hall where we conducted our revival meetings and blessed her. Yes, God can make the iron float!
