Intersections – the place where 2 ways meet.

A place of decisions, choices.

A Decision is the selection between possible actions.

Consider the road to Liberty:

And never forget that the road to Liberty is never free.

A great price was paid to build it.

In DC standing before the Vietnam War Memorial Wall is a somber experience. The last time I was there I traced my mother’s, mother’s brother’s name: Randy Love.

There are 58,267 names on that wall.

The 1st solider to die was Air Force T-Sgt. Richard B. Fitzgibbon Jr. (killed: 6/8/1956).

Beside his name is the name of his son: Marine Lance Corporal Richard B. Fitzgibbon III. (killed: 9/7/1965).

3 sets of fathers and sons are listed on the wall.

39,996 soldiers were 22 years old or younger.

8,283 were 19 years old. (The largest age group of all who served during Vietnam).

33,103 were 18 years old.

12 were 17 years old.

5 were 16 years old.

And 1 was 15 years old: Private First Class Dan Bullock.

997 died on the first day they arrived.

1,448 died on the day they were to leave.

There are 31 sets of bothers listed on that wall.

58,267 died during that 10 year period.

And in 6 week period during 1864 General Grant lost approximately the same number of soldiers.

The road to Liberty is not free.

1,343,812 men and women have given their lives.

And counting.

1,525,230 Soldiers wounded.

And counting.

WTC5 set at the corner of Liberty Street and Church Street in NY.

It was built in 1970 and was the third tallest building in the world.

It sustained damage during the 911 attacks and was demolished in 2002.

It was at ground zero that in the rubble of the traded towers stood a section of the guarders 20 feet high that had fallen to the earth. It stuck up out of the pile of rubble with conduit hanging on them. It formed the shape of a cross.

This cross was included in the 911 Memorial at Ground Zero. It has a prominate placement.

4 American atheist brought a law-suite against is being a part of the memorial. They stated that “when they look upon it, it causes them to experience depression, headaches, anxiety, mental pain and anguish.” They also said, “It was a shame and insult to every non-Christian survivor.”

---and so it has been and so it is and shall always be a battle where Liberty and Church meet.

As there is no true freedom out of Christ.

To the Jews it was a stumbling block.

To the Greeks a foolishness.

But to us…

Romans 1:16 “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”

Many today say the Church is bondage and a destroyer of freedom.

Not so and certainly not true.

There is no freedom without boundaries and laws and structure.

John 8:36 “If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.”

It’s a matter of the Heart.

What happens here today can and will change your life for all eternity.

Decisions here today will affect your life forever.

Cast your cares on the one who truly cares… Jesus our Christ.

How?

By submitting unto His Word, Will and Way.

There is always a battle at the intersection of life.

Which road will you take?
