Summary: Quick outline about being in the hand of God as our potter. He is continually shaping and molding us into what He desires for us to be.
In The Potter’s Hand
Jeremiah 18:1-6
I. The Potter Knows His Clay
A potter knows the material he is working with.
He understands the best way to shape and mold it.
A potter knows what the material he is working with is suitable for. He understands what it would best be used for.
II. The Potter is In Control
Even though we have free will, we need to realize that the potter is in control
Phil. 2:13 “For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.”
III. We are Created As God Desires us to be
Psalm 139:13-16
13 For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb.
14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.
15 My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
16 Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.
IV. God Shapes us to be a Perfect Vessel
