Summary: how we are seen by God
How many times does satan cause you to feel unworthy of Gods love and affection? Often time he will remind us of the many mistakes that we have made and tells us that we are not good enough to go before God. How many times have you felt that you were not the child of God that you should be due to a mistake? I know that many times I struggle with this in my own life. I feel that God sees all my faults and judges me according to those faults. I feel unworthy to approach the thrown of God. Often times these feeling can cause us to shy away from the relationship that God desires with us. I have heard many people say “I am to far gone for God to love me”.
Friends and loved ones I want to tell you today that there is hope. That God loves you. When Christ died on the cross for our sin he made away for us to approach God directly, he broke down all barriers. As Wayne Watson so greatly puts it
“His gaze always passes thru rose coloured glasses every time he looks on my heart, and thru love’s forgiveness thru purity’s fire I am my God’s desire”
No truer words could be spoken than these.
John 3:16-17 tells us that we are loved and given!
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his son into the world to condemn the world but to save the world through him” (TNIV)
When satan comes at you quote this scripture and put your name in the place of the word world. We are loved and free of condemnation through the son of God Jesus Christ. We are forgiven, our sins are washed away.
John 15:16 tell us that we are chosen; it states “you did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit.”
Here we see we are chosen. The father hand picked us we were the object of his desire. Not only did he choose us but he appointed and approved us to go forth and bear fruit or to bring others to know Christ. We are his chosen children.
Romans 5:1-2
Therefore, since we have been justified through faith we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand and we boast in the hope of the glory of God.
Romans 5:1-2 sums it up for us. Since we have been justified or made in right relationship with God we can know that we may approach the throne of God confidently as his beloved children. We do not have to believe the lies that satan throws our way to keep us from drawing near to God. We can come before him with peace knowing that we are covered by his grace. This is a grace that knows no end. A grace that throws our sins as far as the East is from the West. It is a grace that allows us to rejoice in the love and power of God the father.
I want to encourage you today to live in the abundant life God has planned for you knowing that in his eyes you are a beloved, chosen, and forgiven child. He wants to give good gifts to his children. Claim with me today the freedom to approach God as his child and know that we do not have to worry that in his eyes we are spotless.
