VIII. MAIN BODY:
A. JESUS is our Perfect Model and Example of Constant Prayer to GOD
JESUS offered up special prayers and supplications to the FATHER
"In the days of His flesh [Jesus] offered up definite, special petitions [for that which He not only wanted but needed] and supplications with strong crying and tears to Him Who was [always] able to save Him [out] from death,"
Matthew 26:38-39 (Amplified Bible)
26:38 Then He said to them, My soul is very sad and deeply grieved, so that I am almost dying of sorrow. Stay here and keep awake and keep watch with Me.
26:39 And going a little farther, He threw Himself upon the ground on His face and prayed saying, My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass away from Me; nevertheless, not what I will [not what I desire], but as You will and desire.
Matthew 26:42 (Amplified Bible)
26:42 Again a second time He went away and prayed, My Father, if this cannot pass by unless I drink it, Your will be done.
John 17:1 (Amplified Bible)
17:1 WHEN JESUS had spoken these things, He lifted up His eyes to heaven and said, Father, the hour has come. Glorify and exalt and honor and magnify Your Son, so that Your Son may glorify and extol and honor and magnify You.
JESUS is our Perfect Model and Example of what it means to pray to the FATHER GOD, even if JESUS knows that He is GOD, He still kept His relationship with the FATHER thru His prayers.
B. JESUS is our Perfect Model and Example of Answered Prayers
JESUS was heard because of His reverence towards GOD
"and He was heard because of His reverence toward God [His godly fear, His piety,"
Hebrews 13:20 (Amplified Bible)
13:20 Now may the God of peace [Who is the Author and the Giver of peace], Who brought again from among the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, by the blood [that sealed, ratified] the everlasting agreement (covenant, testament),
Isaiah 49:8 (Amplified Bible)
49:8 Thus says the Lord, In an acceptable and favorable time I have heard and answered you, and in a day of salvation I have helped you; and I will preserve you and give you for a covenant to the people, to raise up and establish the land [from its present state of ruin] and to apportion and cause them to inherit the desolate [moral wastes of heathenism, their] heritages,
John 11:42 (Amplified Bible)
11:42 Yes, I know You always hear and listen to Me, but I have said this on account of and for the benefit of the people standing around, so that they may believe that You did send Me [that You have made Me Your Messenger].
JESUS kept His Faith and Relationship with the FATHER, and that's why every prayer He has are answered by GOD.
C. JESUS is our Perfect Model and Example of Enjoying GOD's Presence
JESUS shrank from the horrors of separation from GOD's Presence
"in that He shrank from the horrors of separation from the bright presence of the Father]"
Hebrews 12:28 (Amplified Bible)
12:28 Let us therefore, receiving a kingdom that is firm and stable and cannot be shaken, offer to God pleasing service and acceptable worship, with modesty and pious care and godly fear and awe;
