Summary: Sets forth five areas to call in remembrance as we approach the table of the Lord.

IN REMEMBRANCE OF OUR SAVIOR

“And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, ’This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me’ Likewise He also took the cup, saying, ’This cup is the new covenant in My blood, which is shed for you.” Luke 22:19-20.

I. REMEMBER THE LIFE THAT HE LIVED.

“How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him. And we are witnesses of all things which He did both in the land of the Jews and in Jerusalem.” Acts 10:38-39.

II. REMEMBER THE WORD THAT HE TAUGHT.

His teachings were truly revolutionary…not against any government or nation…but against the sinful philosophy of an unregenerate world.

He taught of holiness: “Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father who is in heaven is perfect.” Matthew 5:48.

He taught of loving your enemies: “But I say unto you who hear: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, and pray for those who spitefully use you.” Luke 6:27-28.

He taught of forgiveness: “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive your trespasses.” Matthew 6:14.

III. REMEMBER THE SUFFERINGS HE ENDURED.

"He is despised and rejected by men, a Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows. Yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities. The chastisement of our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed." Isaiah 53:3-5.

IV. REMEMBER THE DEATH THAT HE DIED.

"Then Pilate released Barabbas to them; and when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered Him to be crucified." Matthew 27:26.

V. REMEMBER HIS PROMISE TO COME AGAIN FOR US.

"In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also." John 14:2-3.
