VIII. MAIN BODY:
Impossible came from the Greek word: "adunatos" meaning:
1. without strength, impotent, powerless, weakly, disabled
2. unable to be done, impossible
Several things are defined by the Bible to be "Impossible", these are:
1. It's impossible for men to save themselves
Matthew 19:26 (Amplified Bible)
19:26 But Jesus looked at them and said, With men this is impossible, but all things are possible with God.
Mark 10:27 (Amplified Bible)
10:27 Jesus glanced around at them and said, With men [it is] impossible, but not with God; for all things are possible with God.
Luke 18:27 (Amplified Bible)
18:27 But He said, What is impossible with men is possible with God.
2. Impossible is also considered "impotent" in the Bible: Like it's "impossible" for a man crippled from birth to walk.
Acts 14:8 (Amplified Bible)
14:8 Now at Lystra a man sat who found it impossible to use his feet, for he was a cripple from birth and had never walked.
3. The Law is "impossible" to save us:
Romans 8:3 (Amplified Bible)
8:3 For God has done what the Law could not do, [its power] being weakened by the flesh [the entire nature of man without the Holy Spirit]. Sending His own Son in the guise of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, [God] condemned sin in the flesh [subdued, overcame, deprived it of its power over all who accept that sacrifice],
4. Impossible is also considered "weak" in the faith, in the Bible: We bear the "impossibilities" of the weak as strong in the faith
Romans 15:1 (Amplified Bible)
15:1 WE WHO are strong [in our convictions and of robust faith] ought to bear with the failings and the frailties and the tender scruples of the weak; [we ought to help carry the doubts and qualms of others] and not to please ourselves.
5. Impossible to restore a backslidden CHRISTian
Hebrews 6:4 (Amplified Bible)
6:4 For it is impossible [to restore and bring again to repentance] those who have been once for all enlightened, who have consciously tasted the heavenly gift and have become sharers of the Holy Spirit,
6. Impossible for GOD to lie
Hebrews 6:18 (Amplified Bible)
6:18 This was so that, by two unchangeable things [His promise and His oath] in which it is impossible for God ever to prove false or deceive us, we who have fled [to Him] for refuge might have mighty indwelling strength and strong encouragement to grasp and hold fast the hope appointed for us and set before [us].
Hebrews 6:18 (The Message)
6:18 God can't break his word. And because his word cannot change, the promise is likewise unchangeable. We who have run for our very lives to God have every reason to grab the promised hope with both hands and never let go.
Hebrews 6:18 (New International Version)
6:18 God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope offered to us may be greatly encouraged.
7. Impossible for blood of bulls to to take our sins away
Hebrews 10:4 (Amplified Bible)
10:4 Because the blood of bulls and goats is powerless to take sins away.
8. Impossible to please GOD without faith
Hebrews 11:6 (Amplified Bible)
11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please and be satisfactory to Him. For whoever would come near to God must [necessarily] believe that God exists and that He is the rewarder of those who earnestly and diligently seek Him [out].
