Image Worshiping

1 Corinthians 10:14-15 King James Version (KJV)

14 Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.

15 I speak as to wise men; judge ye what I say

Beloved, the Greek word translated as idolatry is *"eido¯lolatreia"* is a combination two words which means *"imagery worship"*.

Beloved worshiping of imagery is worshiping of false gods, practising the worship of the devil. Beloved we should never exchange the worship of God Almighty, for the worship of any image.

Today there are many images that people worship unconsciously or give reverence to without realizing the effect.

Beloved, in our world today, a student will for example put GHS1 or GHS5 as contribution for a church project or something being done in honour of God because he is not working but same student will find ways and means to raise over a GHS1,000 or GHS2,000 to buy a phone or give his girlfriend a treat or spend on his birthday with his boys.

Beloved, this act shows who you revere and who you are worshiping. This act is not an act of worshiping God so think about what you are doing and who you are aligning to bit by bit.

Beloved, we really need to consider the statement of our beloved Apostle Paul to flee idolatry seriously. This is because various acts unconsciously drags us into it.

Beloved, we have to be careful how we express our worship for God. We mostly give Him lip service. We go to church, sing, jump, cry, roll on the floor, listen to the Word, get touched and then afterwards we use our blessings from the same God to finance and take care of other images that we pride in like phones, cars, jewellery among others.

If you feel giving to the Church or supporting the Church with your time and strength is a problem to you, go out there and give to orphanage homes, widows and others in the society who when you give to it glorifies God and support them with your time and strength.

I'm not saying don't buy phones or cars or material things but as you do these, consider it against what you do for God. Let your acts in the house of God and outside if it show your love and reverence for God Almighty who you call your Father, instead of your acts showing the images you buy or build your love and reverence for them.

If you know and believe you belong to the Kingdom of Light then let your worship for God be seen and known of you. Dont put it in doubt or put another act higher than that or place another act more important than that.

Beloved, *IT'S ALL ABOUT JESUS* and no one else. Jesus prioritized the worship of His Father paramount to all things and His acts showed it. He also encouraged and led others to do same to worship God with their all. Beloved you are a follower of Christ, do same.

Prayer: Daddy please guide me to worship you the right way so I don't worship images unconsciously. In the mighty name of Jesus I pray. Amen.
