Plan for: Thanksgiving | Advent | Christmas
The fire of God must be kept burning in our lives because that is what helps us to sustain our soul and spiritual life. His fire enables us to live a life of blessings.
Introduction:
The fire of God is essential for sustaining our spiritual life. It provides us with blessings and helps us maintain a strong connection with Him. Just as fire is crucial for survival in the physical world, the fire of God is vital for our spiritual well-being. In this sermon, we will explore why it is important to keep the fire burning in our lives and how we can do so.
Step 1: Igniting the Fire
To start the fire, we must prepare our hearts and souls. This involves repenting of our sins and creating a clean space for God's fire to ignite. Just as the Israelites followed specific instructions for building the altar, we need to follow God's guidance in preparing our hearts. Once we have done our part, we can trust that God will send His fire to ignite our spirits.
Step 2: Feeding the Fire
Once the fire is burning, we must feed it with the right fuel. This means living in harmony with others, respecting and loving one another. We should avoid idleness and impatience, instead choosing kindness and forgiveness. Prayer, joy, and gratitude are also essential for fueling the fire. On the other hand, disrespect, disharmony, idleness, impatience, unkindness, and ingratitude can quench the fire of God in our lives.
Step 3: Cleaning out the Ashes
Regularly cleaning out the ashes left behind by the fire is crucial for maintaining its intensity. If we neglect this task, the fire will be choked out. We must remove any debris or sin that hinders the fire from burning brightly. By keeping our hearts clean and free from evil, we allow the fire of God to continue its work in us.
Step 4: Allowing the Fire to Work
Once the fire is burning and properly tended to, we must step back and let it do its job. We need to be patient and trust that the fire will purify our hearts, guide us, and provide warmth and light in our lives. Just as fire consumes and refines, God's fire will consume our impurities and lead us to a closer relationship with Him.
Conclusion:
It is our responsibility to keep the fire burning on the altar of our hearts. By feeding it with the right fuel, cleaning out the ashes, and allowing it to do its work, we can maintain a strong connection with God. This fire will not only bless us but also inspire others to seek the same fiery passion for God. Let us make a commitment to keep the fire burning in our lives and trust that God will use it to transform us and impact those around us.
