Summary: If you had life to live over again would you make some of the mistakes you made in the past

IF YOU HAD IT TO DO ALL OVER AGAIN

II Samuel 12:13-24

Intro: In the reading of the scripture we find Nathan the prophet has rebuked David for his sin. David admitted his sin and begged God to spare his life. The Lord spared David but from here on through the rest of David’s reign was nothing but sorrow for Nathan told David in verse 10 “Now therefore the sword shall never depart from thine house…” David watched as his actions caused his family to spiral out of control. And as David tearfully saw these things happen I am sure he could only say to himself; if I had it to do over again things would be different. I want to preach on the subject “IF YOU HAD IT TO DO ALL OVER AGAIN”

Close: You may be sitting here tonight-saying preacher if I had another chance I would do things differently. I used to live right right and if I had it to do all over again I would do it right. And while you cannot do nothing about the past you can do something about the future. I believe God is a God of second-chances. Luke 15 tells about a person who got a second chance. The Prodigal Son had ruined his life. But the Bible says that one say while he was in the hog lot he came to himself. He went back home and found his father waiting with open arms. The Lord is waiting with open arms. My friend if you have hatred and malice in your heart against someone here tonight you should make it right with them tonight. It might just be that person could die tonight and you would stand before God guilty saying if I had it to do all over again I would make it right. Maybe you should witness to someone. To live the rest of your life with their blood on your hands.
